Crossing the NYC ING Marathon?

I live in Brooklyn and commute to Manhattan on the day of the upcoming Marathon. Does anyone know where I can find information on crossing over the route? I need to get from Park Slope across 4th Ave (where the runners are going).

I think I might be able to use the subway station overpass, but I'd like to know before I leave the house that morning. Thanks!

Depends on when you want to cross 4th Ave. Here's a link to the schedule by mile: http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/entrantinfo/arrivals.htm
Here's a link to a map that gives the mile markers: http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/docume...or_Media-4.pdf

You want to cross 4th Ave more than 15 minutes before the elite runners are supposed to arrive. Otherwise, you will have to use the subway to cross under 4th Ave. I believe the Pacific St stop will allow you to cross under without paying. N.B. you don't want to be between Dean and Pacific on 4th Ave because that's a water station. You probably should check out which stations on 4th Ave let you to cross under without paying a fare.

Thanks for the links.

I will definitely be commuting right in the middle of when they would be passing through brooklyn. Do you happen to know if the 4th ave and 9th st. subway stop would work? I'm willing to pay the fee.

I have no direct information regarding this station. My research tells me that the 9th St R station should work but that the 4th Ave F station should not. I'd suggest that you make an advance trip to check check out the situation.

Worse case scenario, dismount and start running with your bike (like a 'cross race) and then slowly slink away where you are going... :-)
