Connecticut Bike Fitter

Can anyone recommend a good bike fitter? I live in Central Connecticut. Recommendations? Cycling Concepts, Newington Bike, Pedal Power, Benendorm, REI, Pig Iron, Berlin Bike. For a Road bike. Thanks in advance.

Is this for a bike you already own or are you looking to buy a bike. I live in NYC and used Signature Cycles. They have a shop in Greenwich as well. 4 years ago when I bought my bike they charged $375 for a fitting, which came off the cost of a bike if you purchased from them. The fitting process took around 2 1/2 hours. They do custom builds of Serrota, Seven, IF and Guru among others. They can also make recommendations and changes to your existing bike for the same charge + parts.

I purchased a very lightly used (47miles) CAAD 9-5 this year. Greenwich is a bit of a hike for me.

Try Bethel Cycles. They will charge for the fit of course but you don't have to purchase a bike from them.

Devil's Gear in New Haven has one of those bike fitting contraptions. I shop there, but have not used the service since I tend to be ok at dialing my bikes on my own.

I think they charge like $75.

Also, I'm happy to help you out a bit here in West Haven if you wanted to head down here and do a bit of a road ride. I'm a teacher on summer vacation, so have loads of time.

Bicycles East in Glastonbury ask for Steve. 860/659-0114. Steve did a fitting for me last year I have zero problems. Before that I got numb feet, hands and problems with my knee all went away after the fit.

Standalone, join us on a group ride out of Tony's Bikes on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 or Saturday morning at 7:30am.

Good luck on the bike fit. Let us know where you end up and how you like it! I also have a Cannondale 9-5 from 2010.

Also a bit of a hike for you, but Cycle Center of Stamford has a very good fitting studio.

Many years ago (2002) I got a fit at Pedal Power in Middletown. Gary did the fit, and he took a lot of time to get it dialed in - top-notch, highly recommended.

Targettraining in westport did a retul fitting for me and it worked wonders. The retul fitting is 300, I think a standard fitting w/out the retul is around 150. It was supposed to take 1 to 1.5 hrs and it ended up being 3 hrs- same price.

Dan at Cycling Concepts is quite good and they don't seem to mind people bringing in bikes bought elsewhere.
