I ride this intersection frequently and don't think it is difficult and intersection. Weston Road was just repaved with radar equipped speed limit signs a little further down. The intersection causes drivers to instinctively slow down so as a bicyclist, drivers are looking around and driving slow. That it is a hit and run makes me think the driver was not sober or very guilty.

Today the cyclist was identified as Mr. Alexander Motsenigos of Wellesley. He was wearing a helmet. This happened at 2PM Friday. How can someone hit and leave person to die?

3:2 odds the driver was on the phone.

let's just hope the helmet-haters don't start yelling "told you so!"

From the state of his bike (what looks like a very nice TT bike), I'd say that a helmet was as useful as a box fort during a nuclear explosion.

Does anyone know of plans for a ghost bike installation? I imagine not for a while, since the scene is still a mess right now and the police are still investigating...

I'm really surprised by this accident. I ride throughout "metro west" and used to commute to West Newton and have always found that landscapers gave me the room I needed when they passed. since this was a hit and run, I would also suspect alcohol was involved. so glad this wasn't my old friend who lives in that town.

I know a friend of the family and we're in Los Angeles. My condolensces to the family and all those that knew him. He was quite the family man. Very sad to hear about another cyclist hit & run story.... Tragic.
