NYC: photos of legendary crash/recovery at NYC crit
There was an incident at a NYC crit a number of years ago (4-8 years ago). I believe it was the finish of a cat 3 (possibly 4) race.
Two riders were bumping. One lost his balance, and all that he could do to avoid face-planting was to grab the waist of the rider that he was bumping with. He came unclipped and separated from his own bike, and was literally being dragged down the road as he clung to the rider's waist. Eventually, he let go and basically started to run on his own.
This was captured in an amazing sequence of photos. With one of the rider's names, etc, I'm sure that I could find the photos. But without those details, it's been impossible to find the photos via Google.
Does anyone remember the details of this event, or know where the photos were posted?
Thanks in advance,
Jon
