MA: Cape Cod Rail Trail Q

Interested in hearing about the current state of the trail, I haven't been on it for some years now. Any construction/repaving or poorly maintained sections worth knowing about?

the family and I were on it last summer. the main section from South Dennis to Wellfleet is fine. I found the branch to Chatham bumpy and a little crumbly here and there. that branch needed work. also once it dumps you into Chatham it's hard to find your way back to the trail. I suppose every year there are some trees that come down, etc, but now that's it's Memorial Day I'm sure all obstructions have been cleared by volunteers, or city workers. if I don't get out there solo I'll be out there with the family mid-July.

if you go - report back with pictures! :-)

There a short section, about 2/10 mile or so, where tree roots have caused issues with pavement. They have recently been marked but you will have to bump your way over it. The stretch is just north of the Rt 6 overpass in Orleans.

Otherwise it's in pretty good shape
