Tour de Bronx

I don't know if anyone on Bike Forums does the Tour de Bronx.
If you don't, you should do it next year.
It begins at the steps of the Bronx County Building and ends at the Bronx Botanical Gardens.
It's a fantastic urban ride throughout the Bronx and has everything from flats to hills to riding along the river to rest stops at a beach.
On top of all that, it's free but I would pay for it if I had to.

it was a good ride and well marked. going back to the train station was a bit hairy with the amount of vehicular traffic involved. lots of cyclists, so best to be in the front as usual.

I agree. This is a very fun ride. Even for the most 'hardcore' of riders, there are some hills towards the end.

I stopped doing it a few years ago when it was very disorganized. There were too many places where everyone had to stop. Maybe I'll try it again next year, as I do remember it being a fun ride on those times when I was in the lead group.

I had my eye on it. I did the NYC Century ride this year instead. It was considerable more interesting than the "mass circus" that the Bike NewYOrk was. I saw parts of the city I never saw before. (I even biked through tneighborhood I grew up in) I even biked Randalls Island. Much nicer rides.

That said, if you want really nice rides that are virtually traffic free, you should "cross the pond" to New Jersey - There's a reason we call it "The Garden State".
