Any upstate NY riders on here?
Anyone know of any good group rides near Albany? Given possible variables (wind, hills, traffic), I average 14-15 MPH on a urban hybrid bike.

Check out Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club at http://www.mohawkhudsoncyclingclub.org/, they have all different levels of rides. I have been on a few, but most are near Albany. Not very convenient for me.
Also the Saratoga Cycling club has a few rides. I have never been on them but have passed them while riding. |
What he said. Quite a few rides originating out of Delmar and/or Vorheesville. Rides that say 17-18 are generally faster. I'll do 18 and usually be dropped. The MHCC ride list will generally give you expected speed, terrain coverage planned and whether there will be regrouping stops.

Thanks for the link on the MHCC, I'll check them out

I moved to Albany about 3 months ago. Because of the weather I've only been out a few times since the move and only around the city a little bit each time. Once I get my legs back a little I'll probably look to one of those group rides too.

Here are couple of good rides just north of you;
Home Tour de Cure: American Diabetes Association: 2014 Saratoga Springs Tour de Cure Tour de Salem Flame Fighters (this is a new one but Washington County is a great place to ride) |
