Long Island, Suffolk County: Construction Near Kings Park?

I may be headed from Syosset to the Port Jefferson Ferry this Wednesday, July 16th. About a week ago, a forum member mentioned that Pulaski Road is under construction right around Kings Park and suggested that I use Old Bridge Rd to Bread & Cheese Hollow to Sunken Meadow Road as a detour to Rose Street, where I take a short cut to Landing Road.

This will add an extra two miles to the ride, which is no big deal unless I find that I am late for the ferry when I reach that point.

Can anybody tell me what shape Pulaski is in at this point?

Thanks!
