Route advice Long Island: from Babylon to Greenport

Route advice Long Island: from Babylon to Greenport
I'm riding from Long Island Babylon LIRR to Greenport LIRR this weekend or next. It's my first time riding between these two destinations.
Strava Route Builder and Google's default routes are attached. Both have similar total elevations and similar mileage.
Does anyone here who as ridden in this area have an opinion on which is better, based on scenery and rideability (light car traffic)?
Road bikes, daytime riding, leisurely paced.

It's hard for me to see but I think your option 1 is what I'm familiar with, from many Montauk rides I've done from Massapequa Park.
From Babylon I always take John St. east which becomes Union Blvd. That will run into 27A at Bayard Arboretum, where you must turn left and pass around the north end of the arboretum. Stick with 27A through Oakdale, it's not great but not terrible either. When you arrive in Sayville you can get off 27A by turning right onto Middle Rd. Stay with that, it's a nice ride. There's a small bay beach at Corey Creek in Blue Point that makes a nice stop. Now a bit of navigation thru Patchogue. Don't sweat it, keep going east while staying south of the LIRR will get you there, but here is my pain and traffic free route.
Left (N) on Atlantic where Middle Rd ends. Right (E) on Weeks, nice little deli here. Left (N) on River Ave. Right (E) on on Division, passing LIRR station. Division continues east becoming Baker. Left (N) on Rider, immediate right(E) on Edwards. Left (N) on Bay, quick right (E) on Liberty. Left (N) on Grove, right (E) on Swezey. Left(N) at the end on Roe (historic 1 room schoolhouse here), right (E) on South Country. WHEW, you're through Patchogue, probably saw 3 cars, and your reward is that pretty lake on the left and a nice quiet sail eastwards on S. Country. A bit indirect but beautiful is this; a right on Beaver Dam, left on Old Stump. I've been heckled a few times on Old Stump by wild turkeys. At the end of Stump no choice but to rejoin 27A Montauk Hwy eastbound thru Mastic/Shirley, which will be the least pleasant stretch of your day. I think but am not certain this may largely match your option 1.
From here I have always proceeded east to the Point so am not familiar with that northeast segment on your map. You could do the same and continue east to Bridgehampton or East Hampton, and then turn north to Sag Harbor, Shelter Island and the ferries, right into Greenport. That's how I would do it. If that appeals I'd be happy to throw more road names at you. Enjoy your ride!

Here is a shot of that beach in Blue Point you will pass. Right turn at Corey Ave. at Flo's Luncheonette. 100 yards off Middle Rd. The second one is another beach at south end of Belleview Ave. in Center Moriches. I have many pleasant childhood memories of that place. A bit more off your route though.

Take a look at the route on a map, or enter it into your GPS/phone if you are using that......Middle Rd AKA rt 65, and South Country AKA rt 36, have a few little turns & doglegs in there, just so you don't get surprised. I think you will enjoy the route.
