Coming up Sunday, June 9, 2013, the Rotary Club of Ukiah will be holding the fourth annual Mendocino Monster Century Bicycle Ride. This is a seriously difficult ride in Mendocino County, California, that will really work you over and is a super training ride for Levi's GranFondo or the Death Ride. There are three rides – the Hairy Monster is 62 miles (100 kilometers) and includes 6900 feet of climbing – the Scary Monster is 100 miles (160 kilometers) and includes 9200 feet of climbing, and new this year is the Merry Monster that is 26 miles and has 750 feet of climbing.
Both rides start in Ukiah at Mendocino College and the Scary Monster goes all the way to the coast and back. Both rides are really beautiful, well organized rides with outstanding rest stops, super great food, full SAG vehicle support, a swingin' t-shirt and a great barbecue meal at the end of the ride. If you're up for the challenge, please sign up. And don't forget to invite all your cycling friends. You can discover more about the Mendocino Monster and register online at www.mendocinomonster.com. The Rotary Club of Ukiah is putting on this event as a fundraiser to help with the worldwide elimination of Polio and other international and local service projects.
Sign up before April 8th and get the low $65 rate - ($75 after April 7th) for either the Hairy or Scary Monster. $40 for the Merry Monster ($50 after April 7th). Come join in on the fun!
