So sorry but another very sad story.

Condolences to her family and friends.

Bicyclist hit, killed by truck in Fremont - SFGate

Was wondering how this accident happened Monday May 11.
6 feet are required for trucks to pass a cyclist, but in this case it may not have been enough.
It does take nerves of steel at times to ride in traffic.

Stay safe and alert and obviously calm!

Can you post a link to the article ?
"When I hear another express an opinion, which is not mine, I say to myself, He has a right to his opinion, as I to mine; why should I question it. His error does me no injury, and shall I become a Don Quixot to bring all men by force of argument, to one opinion? If a fact be misstated, it is probable he is gratified by a belief of it, and I have no right to deprive him of the gratification."

Almost as soon I post it, I realized forgot the link, this accident I heard about it on the radio while driving to meet a group that I ride with. It is always unsettling to hear about bicycle accidents.

It sounds like the rider hit a curb on an overpass, lost control of her bike, fell into a path of the truck. Probably a dicey place to ride but short story in SF Gate doesn't make it sound like the truck driver was negligent.

OTOH a load less flatbed was barreling down at about 25 mph a relatively long sight line section of OLH yesterday when I was ascending. He make no attempt to use his breaks and I came the closest I ever have in all my hundreds of trips up to riding off the road. I had my blinkey on high power, so I'm sure he saw me but just didn't give a damn.

Regardless of the circumstances, a bike rider died at the hands of a cager. I don't know who is at fault but it's a tragedy nonetheless.

Keeping her family and friends and fellow cyclists on that route in my thoughts. Stay safe, people.
