Road rides near Downieville
Hi All:
The Mrs and I are heading up to Downieville tomorrow morning and we'll be heading back on Sunday.
My MTB friends will probably kill me for asking this, but are there any good road rides that anyone can recommend that start/finish in Downieville? I'll have about 2 hours to ride and I need to leave from Downieville. The Mrs had back surgery recently and can't drive, so she wouldn't be able to drop me off anywhere (which is the main reason I'm considering road vs MTB).
Thanks,
Sonny

Downieville shops do have shuttle rides up to the top, I road up there last time and that is a seriously steep hill. However I was out there just shy of 4 hours, 2 hours is a pretty small window (plus the shuttle ride). The North Yuba Trail is a few miles down the road, on the other side of the river. It continues down river for 7 miles and is pretty rugged I hear, it is still on my list. If road biking, highway 49 is pretty scenic, and not heavily traveled. Since you are tied to Downieville all you really have is 49 and and two hours. Kind of hard to be in Downieville and not hit the dirt.
