Lazy explore loop around Healdsburg and the Alexander Valley -- been meaning to ride there sooner or later http://app.strava.com/activities/41166865

Saw someone riding south on Chalk Hill in the company of what seemed to be a trainer on a motor scooter. A pro or just someone with a lot more dedication than me (and a friend with a scooter)?

Pic of 128 - not of the scooter companion guy.

only one significant wrong turn today... eventually I'll learn to actually look at the map instead of just pointing the wheel "that'a'way." No complaints about it http://app.strava.com/activities/41323627 just another gorgeous day, wish I'd had more time!

hills s/w of Sebastopol then loop to Cotati, Santa Rosa, & back. Lots of riders on Bloomfield wearing yellow Trek jackets -- looked like a club?

What a cruel trick... Mountain's covered in snow and it's too foggy to see it.

I don't know if Monday counts on a long weekend, but I managed to tool up and down Kings Mountain just before the rain came along. The sky looked a little surly and it was spitting little dribbles of rain periodically, but it held up from actual showers until I got home.

Fortunately, the top was dry. No slip sliding around. I did see a car start down that I eventually caught up to. They pulled off the road and let me pass! Hooray for nice car drivers!

I tried out my new full fingered cold weather gloves and I am LOVING them. No more frozen fingers descending Kings Mountain!

I had to go see the snow on top of Diablo by the way of Mitchell Canyon--the road was closed at the 3,000 foot level or at Juniper camp ground! The snow was only in the shady area and it was not too bad!

Wow, what wonderful photos. I wish I'd have been there with you.
Could you not ride up the road? Does that mean you rode up on a the trails?

No snow (wow!), just wine and mustard on a triangular loop around the Sonoma Valley... (if Monday is a late weekend, is Thursday an early one?)

You could ride the road the last two miles but was closed to cars--couple of spots I had to walk because the snow was a little deep and too slippery!

On the vertical shot one can see the moon!!!

It was very pretty I have to add with only a few die hard cyclists and walkers!

Does Friday afternoon count? I put myself through the fun of Crestview in San Carlos/Belmont off of Edgewood just to see if it was as bad as it looked. It was. Strava claims it had some 20% pitches on a 15%+ average grade. It sure FELT brutal. But I'm not sure I'm convinced it was 20%...

I "did" Redwood Gulch yesterday. And I cross-trained a good chunk of it. I will ride a bit more before I try that again. Oh and those winds yesterday - now I know why they call it the "Santa Teresa Slog".

Not wanting to be outdone by the bears, pigs and wildcat on this ride, a coyote crossed the road right in front of me.

Along River Road by What Photos Look Like, on Flickr

Healdsburg Mushroom Festival & Wineries yesterday, Graton Road/Bohemian Highway loop today (only one wine stop at the end... and a surprise loose seat fix at Monte Rio) -- didn't realize I was only a couple of flat miles from the sea at one point, shoulda gone. Next time.

Boring drag the kid in the trailer up and down Canada a few times, but my wife rode in the morning and ran into one of the developers from Strava and rode with him for awhile. She chatted with him for awhile and told him what she liked about the app. Nerdy fun!

Group ride from Auburn to Colfax with the WAV Riders women's cycling club. Unlike what happens when I ride with men, I was able to keep the fastest riders in sight for the entire ride, so I was never more than a minute or two back at regroups.

Mt. Hamilton and my first ride on Kincaid Rd. Did a full Hamilton Front climb and then road the full length of the Kincaid out and back for some extra miles and climbing. 50 Miles w/ 7000 feet. This ride was an adapt to condition on the road special.
http://app.strava.com/activities/42881058#
It was supposed to be Front and Back of Hamilton but Midland and I got dropped so hard by Bostic, Marco and an amazing woman named Karen (?) that it was humbling. I figured we might have Spingineer for company until he vanished. Then he called me a and said his chain broke a block from the cars. Bummer. Did not feel riding the back side of Hamilton, been there done that. Loved Kincaid even though it is steep in spots.

I rode a trainer (spin class for an hour) in Iowa. It's stinkin' 14 degrees and I'm working in a hotel room over the weekend. Hope you all are enjoying the good weather.

No big deal, 40ish miles with MyLilPony. What made it grand (hint: not the wind) was the stunning light shining on the California landscape.

Starting in Blackhawk, did SG to the junction, down NG, then trails/Ygnacio Valley Rd/side streets to Marsh Creek Rd, then up and over Morgan Territory. PR'd MT on my new Boyd Vitesse wheels , hit 55mph on the descent, woo! Back to Blackhawk via Highland/Cam Tass. 55 miles RT. Weird weather, but a great ride, highly recommended!
