Dig it! I need to build a commuter cx bike.

I rode in Watsonville this past weekend. Only did 30 miles due to time constraints, but got some hills in on Mt. Madonna Rd. I try to use the 20's on my cassette at least once a month

Planned to do an out and back on Hamilton from my place on saturday before a 2pm party -- but i was on call for work and got no sleep, so that was out.

Slept in today, so I decided to ride after the heat subsided.

didn't really happen.

Left home at 5pm, rode into Milpitas, up Calaveras, up the wall, and then back home. Sort and sweet, but hot (90+). 25 miles, couple of hours. First time I've ridden up Calaveras that direction; I did the wall once before but it was after climbing from the reservoir side, so the wall didn't seem as bad.

It was good to get some miles in on the bike before 2 weeks of traveling, and it helped work yesterday's drinking out of the system

Had a nice 40+ mile ride to Peets Coffee in Danville on the tandem. For once it was actually not windy in both directions. Great fun.

I just rode around the neighborhood today. Did some hill repeats(2x really) up Black Diamond mines via Somersville. Total of 30 miles around the Antioch area and 1900 ft of climbing.

My ride was shorter than usual this weekend. On the upside, it was a roll to Woodside to test out my new eggbeater SL's and road shoes (first time going clipless)!

Holstein 100 - did the metric, but the metric ended up being almost 80 miles! 'Someone' turned around some direction arrows on the road, and a group of us ended up making an additional loop with 1000 ft of climbing, before a surprised SAG turned us around.

Friday evening after work: 35 miles on the ARBT to Granite Bay.
Saturday: nothing.
Sunday: Suisun Harbor Crit. Was doing great, right up until the minute I crashed. Bike is fine, I'm a little dinged up, but I'll live.

Up visiting my parents in the Seattle area. I did the infamous Zoo Hill climb. On my dad's folder. Yowza. They say parts of it are 20%.

But overall, my loop was only about 8ish miles; I finished it in 45 minutes despite doing lots of switchbacks and 'rest' circles on my way up the hill

Nah, I had errands to do both days so having the car with was handy. Ryan did both days as well. We were both surprised at how much easier the second day felt even though it was a faster ride.

Minor wash out on the turn to Astradero (I was two wheels behind him), he got back up with a strawberry on his leg. I was just glad there wasn't a car coming the other way, because I and almost everybody else went into the semi-blind opposite lane.

Thats great. I was going to ride too but I had to work.

So I just rode around the Brentwood area Sunday and enjoyed the tailwinds. Visited some nice rural roads I haven't been on for a while. I averaged 16.7 mph in 30 miles. I love them winds.

So clue us in. Did Rapha sponsor a ride? Did they give away Rapha schwag?

Friday evening I took the folder for some MTBing at Russian Ridge.

This afternoon I was on the Orbea. Went from Foster City to the Portola loop to Page Mill, climbed to Skyline (in 96+ degree weather and few breaks from the sun!), then took Skyline to Kings Mountain, descended and back to Foster City.

About 61 miles, 5000'.
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...-Mountain-loop

Wasn't particularly well-prepared, only had a pear (breakfast) and a Lara bar (lunch) plus 2 bottles of water to keep me going.

Despite slatherings of sunscreen I seem to have added to my cyclist's tan.

Close to the beginning of Kings Mountain I caught a car...was stuck behind it the whole rest of the way down (no good places to pass).

Think I made him a bit nervous...he kept slightly crossing the double yellow.

Rode Happy Valley Rd. from Lafayette to Bear Creek Rd. Then up north through Baby and Mama Bears and East on Alhambra Valley Rd and back to Lafayette on Reliez Valley Rd., Plesant Hill Rd. and Mt. Diablo Blvd.
The end of the ride was climbing 350' back home on Via Roble for less than 1 mile. The steepest part is at 19%, the average at 16%.

Nice route!

I wouldn't be concerned about water. There are plenty of places along the way to refill if you know where to look... Small park at corner of Portola & Alpine, Palo Alto Foothills Park entrance between Altamont & Moody, Page Mill Road on left as you ascend around the Canyon Trail (I think), the Nature Center at Russian Ridge O.S.P., the store at Skylonda to left of main entrance, Old Woodside Store at Kings & Tripp, Roberts Market

This weekend, we only had 90 minutes so we did a tandem loop from home (Campbell) to Lake Almaden and back through Willow Glen. 16 miles, with a nice stop for lunch at Alva's on Lincoln.

http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/190960

Thursday afternoon though, I climbed Montebello on the way home from work. What a nice climb that is! We were fortunate to have reasonably good air quality too.
