I rode my usual loop: from my house, Canada Rd, Old La Honda and back. 40-some-odd miles and I feel I'm getting my cycling legs beneath me, finally. One of these days I'm going to be able to hang with the big boys on the group NorCal group rides.

Met up with Ramon in the afternoon for a ride.
Ruth & I took the tandem and started from our house.
Rode from San Mateo to the base of OLH, where we met Ramon. We did OLH, then descended E84. Turned on to trip and did the STEEP Summit Springs Rd. First time for Ruth and the tandem.
Ramon split the other way to head home from the bottom of Summit Springs. We headed to Woodside Bakery to grab a bite and coffee/tea.
On the way home, we did Crestview (a steep hill form the night ride). Another first for Ruth and the tandem. After Crestview, we climber Bunker Hill to Ruth's sister's place to hang out. and descended Crystal Springs back home.
47 miles, 4800 feet.

Don't mince words
We did a 50+ miler with our race team, over Cantelow, to Winters and through the orchards to Dixon and back to Vacaville. The guys' idea of slow is a wee bit faster than mine, so I felt like I worked today. My legs concur. Pleasant day, good company, satisfying ride. Hope to do another tomorrow.

16 miles before a blown tire finished my ride. That's the second blown Specialized Mondo Pro in a month. Back to the Continentals. Red Rider's ride was probably hindered by cooling off while everyone tried to fix my stupid tire. Sorry, Red and cgallagh. Tomorrow I'm going to make up some miles.

Looks like some great riding all the way around the bay. There were a billion bikes out on grizzly peak it was like a friggin rally. Great vibe.
Wish everyone had been able to do the "Beaker East Bay ride" It was pure Epic!

Shaking out ride for my Univega rebuild. Did some tempo from home down Sawyer Camp Trail, up to the Golf course and back. About 25 miles.
I should be heading out in a few for a loop around San Bruno Mountain with my friend Mike (who just put a deposit on a new cyclocross bike).

And no, the cooling off had less to do with my performance than last night's celebration. Thank goodness Chris has just one birthday a year.

In SoCal for the weekend. Did GMR, but did not go up to Baldy. Was suffering from stiffness in my lower back. Still managed to get in 38 miles, 3800 feet climbing. Baldy is quickly becoming my favorite SoCal climb.

Went on Dan's Friday Hookie ride, so this became a 3 day weekend! Followed up the tough ride on Friday with an easy 30 mile abbreviated version of the Paradise Loop in Marin with TnT (not training with them, just tagging along for the ride thanks to the invite of a coach). My legs were still sore (thanks, Pete and Dan).
Today, I joined a group of Cherry City Cyclists and old TnT friends in Woodside for a 50 mile cruise. We managed to avoid almost all of the climbing (only 3,000 feet, or so I'm told - my computer hasn't been right since it got soaked on the Death Ride). My legs felt better as the day went along - by the end I was wondering why we were stopping!

Hermes and I did the Russian training ride which included repeats (x2) up Old La Honda followed by team time trial drills for 20 miles on Canada. A total blast!! 48 miles & 6311 feet climbing.

Happy Thanksgiving from Monterey, CA. The weather is cool but sunny, and I went for a short, easy, flat, pretty 12-miler from Fisherman's Wharf along the bike path and coast roads to Pacific Grove and Asilomor to the entrance to the 17 Mile Drive - no time to go further today, what with serious feasting to be done and all.
Boats near Fishermans Wharf . . .
. . . and the Wharf itself.
Random scenery along the way. God, I love living in Nothern California.
Even if resistance is futile, I guess the assimilated still have to have stay someplace when on vacation.

Did 18 miles Wednesday and 30 miles Thursday on an ancient, heavy, knobby-tired mountain bike (my boyfriend's childhood bike). Found some decent rolling hills in northern Massachusetts.
Despite double layers of socks and gloves, my fingers and toes froze pretty quickly, though, they hurt for several hours afterward.
This pond was frozen over:

Yesterday we rode in the glorious weather through the orchards, about 44 miles, with some members of our race team. Today we road with our T-day hosts, just a reverse Winters Loop, riding in and out of fog and sun at a reasonable pace.
I just realized I've accumulated over 155 miles this week, and I still have one more day to ride. I haven't seen this kind of weekly mileages since summer!

25 miles around Reno and up HW 431 yesterday. Cold feet again so I went shopping today. Some bargain Specialized shoes a couple sizes too big. Thick wools socks, better gloves, ear muffs, and goggles. I hope it's enough for 35-40 degree temps.

Just on the ARBT today. Rode up to Lake Folsom and home.
Tomorrow is a loop around Folsom and up to Loomis and home. 65 or 70 miles I expect.

Today I went up OLH and Skyline, back down Kings Mountain and headed home, 44 miles total.
Saw some familiar faces too, but not sure anybody else recognized me. Doug (Genejockey) was heading up KM as I was descending. Saw Velodiva & Hermes twice...once as they descended OLH, once as they were headed south on Canada (I was heading north).
