Saturday, did Bohlman/On Orbit, then off to Hicks Road. 83 miles and 7100 feet. Had a mini-bonk 3/4 the way in.
Sunday, did a recovery ride, from Gunn HS in Palo Alto, up OLH, then down 84, up Alpine. 40 miles, and 5000 feet later ... legs recovered nicely.

Friday: 43 miles from my house, along the ARBT, and back. 157 feet of climbing.
Saturday: Impromptu Slowpoke ride. 32 miles, 2200 feet.
Sunday: OLH - 35 - 84 - Pescadero - Alpine - Page Mill. 45 miles, 4600 feet.

Three rides in three days, and after that last one, I can feel it a bit. I'm up to 230 miles for the month already with about 10k feet of climbing. I might be on track for a good month at this rate.

Hell of a recovery ride. Did you guys take an extra loop somewhere? Even with my several miles of rolling "detour", I'm coming up a few hundred feet short.

Then again, I think my Garmin was drunk:

I did the 35 mile Slowpoke ride on Saturday, and took the family and dog to Pt. Reyes on Sunday to chase seagulls:

Friday: 35 miles - Redwood>Pinehurst loop
Monday: Same ride.

I took the weekend off from cycling and went to Tahoe for some backcountry snowboarding. Here are some pics from Red Lake Peak near Carson Pass:

p.s. My dog's tongue in the last picture is NOT photoshopped. Just playin' for the camera, I guess.

That was Friday.

Sunday I did a 48 mile, 5700' loop, Pescadero / Stage / Tunitas Creek / 35 / 84, meeting up briefly with Ron's ride.

Monday I did a 24 mile, 3600' hooky ride, Pescadero / 84 / Stage loop, ran some errands (post office, grocery shopping) on the way. A bit windy.

I didn't ride over the weekend but I did a pretty burly commute home yesterday. I had never been on Skyline between Page Mill and Hwy 9. The rollers are pretty heartbreaking. You get going nice and zippy and then *oh noes* gotta work for it again. I love the drop down Hwy 9 though.

BTW this is pretty much the first time I've tried to take pics off a moving bike; I'm impressed at all of you folks that take nice clear pictures. Most of mine came out like this or worse and I had to toss them out.

There was a gorgeous valley off to the right that I had to stop and take a non-blurry picture of :

Nice! The rollers don't show up in your Garmin elevation plot but they sure do in the speed plot

I rode with the Sacramento Wheelmen Sunday and got my butt kicked. 80 Miles, 4500 feet. Those guys ride a lot faster than I do. It was a hard ride for me, seemed easy for them. I was good on the hills and descents, and near dropped on the flats. Turned myself inside out to keep up on the flats. I'm still hurting even though I did a recovery ride yesterday.

The loop went down the aquaduct trail paralleling Sunrise, out 16, up Latrobe, S. Shingle, French Creek, Ponderosa, Deer Valley, Green Valley back. The Deer Valley climb was a good one. I'm going to add it in more regularly.

Yeah, they are kind of lost in the noise compared to the page mill climb, unless you stretch out the scale.. I assure you I felt every foot Looking back on it I probably should have taken it easier on the bottom. I really didn't expect it to go on so long.

Holy hot! Today we did Berkeley to Diablo and back (77 miles, 7200 vert.). I was hoping it would be cool on top of Diablo, but no such luck. I felt a bit dehydrated toward the end (beers last night probably didn't help.)

Yesterday was 37 miles in the East Bay hills.

Congrats to all of you who did the DMD! That looks like an incredibly tough ride.

Took the MTB out for a spin in Auburn. It's been awhile since I've been on it.
Scary how fast I lost the mojo for technical stuff. Got most of it back, but it took awhile.

35 miles of singletrack, steep climbs, steeper descents, and ton's of smiles.

Two goofballs that pinch-flatted at the same time.

Did Tunitas Creek and Page Mill today, a bit hot on Page Mill (90's to 100) but otherwise beautiful.
62.5 miles, ~7000'.

A couple of pictures from Stage Rd:

Friday -- 34 mi. tandem ride, avg. 19.6 mph, in the orchards & ag fields towards Winters/Davis/Dixon.

Saturday -- 31 mi. tandem ride, avg. 19.4 mph, a Winters loop, legs complaining about the previous day's ride.

Sunday -- 4 mile power walk at noon-ish. Now sporting first sunburn of the season.

If I can get cgallagh to come home by 5 we can get a couple rides after work this week. Otherwise it's trainer time again.

Primavera Century weekend for me. Did a prep ride on Saturday with Pete, doing the Tiburon loop. That is a really nice loop, especially if you don't have an agenda to kill yourself for the day.

Then, Sunday, Primavera Century, and it was hot by the time we got to Dublin Canyon, and kept trying to stay hydrated. Rest stops came just at the right time to fill up on water.

Is the graphs produced by Ascent for Mac? I have Ascent but do not have the HUD box that is shown.

Took Pescadero-Alpine-Page Mill-Arastradero to meet up with a friend in Palo Alto.

Friend is brand new to road biking, so I showed him around Portola Loop, ending with lunch at Robert's market.

Then I took the reverse of the morning's ride back home. 65.5 miles, couldn't get elevation off of bikely (it's not been working so well for me lately) but I think it was something around 8000' or so.

Beautiful day out!

Hey Hermes - yes it is from Ascent - I found it by accident! You have to Option-Click then drag to highlight a section of the ride in the graph data and voila, up pops the HUD. Very slick HUD, very poor UI design.
