48 miles, San Mateo to Palo Alto and back. Beautiful weather, MUCH nicer than the 18 rain-soaked miles I did the week before! I'm looking forward to riding a lot over Chrismas break!

Thanks for the support guys. Well the 27 Minutes was on a rainy day then i waited 4 Days for a Dry Day. After that my next ride up there was 3 Days later so i guess those were all in one week.

Wow, that's some serious improvement! If you can ride 15 min you will likely win whatever category you enter & possibly even the best time overall.

I'll be out there tomorrow around 2:30, then again on Saturday morning around 10AM if you want to meet & try & better your time.

The turn by turn cue sheet doesn't work with a garmin gpx plot. It works only when you manually plot out a route.

Now this would be even cooler if this site supports iframe. This way, you could have dynamic data, without having to do static screenshots and post the jpg on here. hint hint ...

41 miles today. Highway 9, N. Skyline Blvd, Page Mill (great views but not the best descent) to Foothill, back to home. I wasn't very well prepared for the cold.
My fingers and toes were freezing

Umm yeah, according to my fancy shmancy computer it was below freezing in the morning around Woodside. I came back home and couldn't feel my fingers. That's with Craft Siberian gloves and wool liners.

It was a wee bit nippy out there this morning... I left home in Sunnyvale at 8:00 and rode out to the end of Canada, then up Kings Mountain and West Old La Honda and back. 75 miles... And it was my first time up WOLH, so I got a new PR at 17:30. =)

Went up Montebello for the first time yesterday. Man, that is one tough climb (for me). Hats off to you guys doing this every week in well under 60 mins.
I really have a long way to go
Somewhat anti-climactic when you reach the top though. I didn't expect just a couple of houses. There was some young lady putting stuff in a recycling bin, we exchanged "merry xmass" greetings.
I expected something like Saratoga gap, some place where i can catch my breath.
Today i took it easy and went up MtEden and Pierce.

Been really sick all week, coming off injury too, but managed to get 20 hard earned miles in. Got yet another flat in front of Robin Williams house in Seacliff. I was relentlessly attacked by an enraged bumble bee...(it's December I told the little dumbsh**t)! Friendly neighbor brought out a floor pump and I was on my way.

For a little more excitement you can go through the dirt to get to Page Mill Rd.

But if you do, don't follow the signs to Montebello Parking lot. That will take you through the mtn bike route ... not good on a road bike ... trust me.

Managed to get 10 miles on the new mountain bike in the Diablo Foothills Regional Park on Christmas Day, and another 33 miles today with MarkoPolo, tooling around the Diablo Valley on my fairly new Pogliaghi.

No pics from today, but a couple from the mtb adventure on Christmas Day. Sure is pretty up there.....

I've pretty much been riding a little bit each day of my vacation. Not nearly as much as I'd like, but at least I'm riding some.

Xmas day I was itching to get out of my parents' house for a ride. I rode on some small, but steep hills, but felt like I was going to die. Didn't eat well enough that morning.

Today my friend and I were going to go mountain biking, but she was worried that the trails would be a little moist. We decided to go ride the ARBT instead. Original plan was pretty much just a loop around Lake Natoma and maybe out to Beals Point. On our way (coming from out of town) there I saw a sign that said "Bike Crossing" and pointed it out to my friend. We ended up starting there in Rancho Cordova south of 50. Plan was now to go out to Lake Natoma, loop, and return. My friend was on her mtb which slowed her down a lot. I kept ramping up the pace without realizing it then slowing down so she could keep up on her hunk o' junk. A little over 2 miles in, she flatted. Rookie didn't have a spare tube on her! Ride was over. I rode slowly back while she walked her bike.

Good news is that I think I have her totally convinced to get a road bike now. Can't wait!

Rode with our son yesterday, taking him over Cantelow for the first time. Pretty day for a fun time.

Wish our daughter would ride with us, too. We have enough bikes and gear for a family ride. Someday...

I strapped on my Christmas present ( a new rear fender) and rode a nice 47 miles. I felt really good, even though the threatening skies never delivered, so my new toy is largely untested.

That was today's ride. A bit wet with some sprinkles, but the roads dried out for the last hour or two. Warmed up nicely and I had to lose a few layers. Fun time!

No ride during this weekend, had a great one on Thursday morning with the gang though.

The weekend, per see, was getting the tandem ready with the new goodies: new wheelset with drum brake (and wider axle), switch from 7 to 9 speeds. Finding a 3100mm long cable was the toughest part of the ordeal but it's all ready to go now.

Slowly starting to get some of my fitness back after being sick off and on all month on top of missing time on the bike due to bad weather.

Ride today was a short 11.25 miles, but my average speed is going back up and I felt pretty good today. I even dropped a guy, which made me quite happy especially since I was riding at a somewhat slow to normal pace warming up before realling starting.

If the weather cooperates I'm going to amp up to 15 miles tomorrow, then 20, and 25 after that. Or at some point this week when the weather allows. Then it'll be time to go back to work and I'll only have time to ride on weekends and I'll return to losing fitness. Boo.

I've been fighting this as well. Mileage dropped by half from October to November due to sickness, and I'm barely keeping up with the November numbers due to weather and such. I got 18 miles in on my mountain bike today, but I upped the ante with a new 17t cog on the single speed (from 19t previously). The trails were pretty good at Granite Bay today (Granite Bay is a great wet day riding spot) and it felt good to do some pedaling! I'm hoping to get in a road ride or another mountain bike ride Tuesday or Wednesday, in order to be ready for a big 30-miler on Friday. I'm anxious about that ride - I've ridden all over Auburn SRA on the 19t I had on my single speed, but it's a new world on the 17t.

This. Was pretty fun, got to meet some new people, visit some new places. Aside from spending an hour cleaning the bike, was great!

Had the Creeping Crud that's been going around for a bit (the fairly low-grade version, thank God) so I haven't been out a whole lot. Spent the 24th-26th in Sacto with my fiance and her family. Finally had both the time and the health to get out on Saturday the 26th - a short jaunt from just off I-5 about as far south as Sacramento goes, down Freeport Blvd/SR-160 through Freeport (a village no more than a mile and a half from the edge of Sacto, but a whole world away), over the river, and along the levee to Clarksburg, then back the same way. About 15.5 miles total, which was all I can squeeze with various family duties beckoning.

Today, Sunday the 27th, I was back home in Berzerkeley. Slept in reeeaaalllly late, expecting it to be raining felines and canines as it did on the drive home Saturday night, and was more than a little surpirsed to awake to hazy sunshine. There were chores to be done, but I managed to get out for another short ride - 11.5 miles along the Ohlone Greenway from roughly N. Berk BART to the northern end at the El Cerrito/Richmond border at San Pablo Blvd and back. The best part was talking my fiance into coming along. My carefully crafted plot to convert her into a cycling chick is slowly coming to fruition. Bwa-haw-haw-haw!
