drinking the kool-aid - joining AV

I'm putting my membership form in the mail tomorrow, I'm going to join Alto Velo since y'all are a cool bunch of folks and the club rides are right in my back yard.

That is all, feel free to go about your regular activities.

Cool! Look forward to seeing you on the club rides and at the races. Oh yeah, the rookie treats the ride leader at Peet's after his inaugural ride.

Does everyone that joins A/V race or does the club include casual riders as well?

Not everyone races. I'd say only about half actually race.

Uhm, so what do the other half do? Ride around in kit and terrorize Freds?

I've been told that we sometimes terrorize other riders when a large group of us passes by. We do take riding safely seriously, though, and try to ride responsibly. Some non-racing club members are spouses or friends of those that do race or they just enjoy our club rides. They don't have to join the club but a lot them do after riding with us for a bit.

Of course, there are some folks who join just to get the great-looking kit!
