My name is Russ and I live in Fairfield, CA. I have been commuting almost every day to work since May on my 1975 Puegot UO-8. I love riding my bike. I have considered selling my van to buy a bike. I think about bikes a lot.

Welcome Russ. Good job on the commute. I think the UO-8 can fit fenders too

Cool dude, welcome to NorCal. If you can go car-less and be happy...more power to you.
I sold my car, I'm pretty happy without it, but I live in the city, so most things are pretty accessible.

Hey all!

I'm Nathan, live in Campbell, go to SJSU, and I'm getting a lot more serious with bike commuting. And I have to say, I'm really starting to dig it! I'm riding an '06 Marin Muirwoods and it's been a pleasure riding all around the south bay on it. As of this (my first) post, I'm happy to report that I've only filled up my car twice in two months (compared to about twice in one month) because I've taken to commute biking. I feel kinda bad about neglecting my awesome Miata, but, it's nice leaving it in the driveway practically everyday.

Ello chaps, I am Jeff from Napa, recently 22 years old, been lurking bikeforums for awhile now, was interested in cycling when I was a teenager but didnt get into it until late summer and even then I didnt ride a lot. After a few changes in my life I decided to crack down and get serious the past three weeks i've been riding 6 days a week around 80 miles a week and looking keep increasing. I plan on moving to Sacramento in a few months and hopefully by then i'll be in shape.

Cheers

My commute is only about 8.6 miles round trip. Sometimes I take the long way home!

Rohnert Park/ Petaluma

Hi all, new to forums from Rohnert Park, but work at the Coast Guard base in Petaluma. Currently commuting 2-3x's a week with my 08 Allez Elite. It is about 11mi each way with one BIG hill.

I am down to ride evening's/weekends in the general vicinity (30mi radius or so), but i am still fresh and don't think i can hang on a 40+ mi ride.

BTW i am 23 and an IT1 in the USCG.

Hey welcome to NorCal. I think at your age and that amount of commuting + a great bike, you would probably be quite surprised at how far you could ride.

Hey everyone! Name's Calvin, and I've been around the forums for a bit now, but have never properly introduced myself, so I guess I'm doing so now. Anyways, I mainly ride in/around the east bay (Berkeley and Oakland), but I love riding around SF when I get the chance. Hope to see you guys around.

Hey Guys,

I am from Palo Alto. I am a high school junior but am a pretty serious rider. I have a Cannondale R1000 w/ ultegra and my sidi ergo carbons which i love.

I ride Old La Honda every weekend and do the short woodside loop (sand hill around alpine road to arastradero) a few times a week.

Just thought i would introduce my self before i started posting.

Matt

Alright, I guess I'll play.

I'm Vincent, high school sophomore, living in Cupertino. I currently ride a roadified 06 Schwinn Mesa GSD, which I changed up quite a bit. I'm trying to convince my dad to get me a cyclocross bike, which I figure will be more durable than a road bike, but faster than any mountain bike.

I ride short loops (~6-7 mi) every weekend with my dad, although occasionally we go on longer rides. My friends and I ride around a lot, mainly to LBSs to check out what they have.

I've been seeing a lot more road bikers in Cupertino recently.

What's up guys? Been lurking for a bit so figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Jan (think European male and not Brady Bunch, but I'm used to being called both lol) and I've been riding for about 2 months now. I live in Concord and go to school in Moraga. I'm 22. I ride a Raleigh Grand Prix w/ 105/Ultegra, which is good enough for a noob like me. You can usually find me riding around Iron Horse Trail and Contra Costa Canal trail (I think it's called that?). Anywho, I look forward to joining the community.

Hey Crew

My name is Timber and I live in Oakland. 56 yo and I ride anywhere from 8 to 50 miles a day. Don't really have a regular commute as I go everywhere, sometimes I load up on BART, sometimes I don't.
I'm up for weekend rides to just about anywhere. Not sure I can keep up, but I can definitely get there.

Hey Norcal bikers! My name is Ranier and I live in Mountain View. I'm a dedicated mt bike/commuter and occasional roadie. My round trip commute is a whole 2 miles but I ride my bike to get around town and now that my commuter/grocery getter project done, I'll be doing it in comfort.

I'm Dion and my wife and I live in Almaden. I ride a red Motobecane Messenger and a St. Martin Flatland BMX bike (part of a Nor-Cal flatland crew). I practice flatland at Leland and Branham Highschools, and take a good loop on my fixed gear down Santa Teresa. I have about a half dozen other bikes that I won't bore you with. I'm a SuperMoto and off-road motorcycle rider, as well.

These are my main rides:

Bore us, bore us, please.

Oh and tell me about your motos too. I just got a dirt bike for my birthday in September, having fun with it so far. Just too bad there isn't somewhere closer to me to ride. It's a nice change from street riding.
