Getting from Channing to Bayshore Fwy

Hi,

I currently commute from San Mateo to Mtn View via bike/Caltrain.

I work right at Bayshore and San Antonio.

So I get off the train at Palo Alto @ University Ave.

I ride up Channing to the Bayshore Fwy frontage road.

The ride is about 6 miles, and I really like it...other than one part... getting from Channing to Bayshore.

Currently I use Embarcadero to cross over the 101, and I hate it. I have to cross over all the on/off ramps, and people late for work are trying to run me over

Anyone know a better way to get from the end of Channing to the Bayshore Fwy??

Thanks,
Marco
