Le Tour de Dauphin

Got up around 5am today to get ready to ride in the Tour de Lincoln, a nearby charity event. I planned to sign up for the metric century, but it occurred to me that if I rode my bike from my house to the starting point and back after the metric...it would give me 100+ miles...so I did! When I left my house it was about 41 degrees and I was dressed appropriately except for gloves...it wasn't long before my fingers were numb... Along the way I managed to disturb a jack rabbit with ears as long as my arms. I arrived in Lincoln in time to sign up and get out on the course at 7:30. After the first fifteen miles, I met a woman named Linda (training to do the ironman) who became my riding partner for the rest of the day. The funny thing is...the course actually took us back to within a mile of my house! At that point, Linda and I detoured to my mail box...where I deposited my no longer needed base layer shirt and long pants...We then rejoined the group heading up one of the more challenging hills on the course. The rest of the course was really fun with some interesting areas I had never ridden in before. I really took part in this ride as an afterthought when the owner of my lbs mentioned it to me yesterday. After the ride I was very happy that I did. I ended up with 101 miles and about 5,000 feet of climbing in 6 hrs and 51 minutes. If you have a chance next year, I would highly recommend the Tour de Lincoln.

Cool Dauphin. I'll have to check it out next year. But where are the pics? Isn't there an unwritten rule that any ride report should be accompanied by pics? Or is that the ME rule?
