Does Davis Double Count in Cal Triple Crown???

I know, it's a stupid question, but consider this ... The ride took place 3 weeks ago. Eastern Sierra took place last week, and the Cal Triple Crown web site shows riders completing Eastern Sierra. However, the site does not show anyone completing Davis. So my facetious question is ... does Davis count as a Triple Crown event?

If you ride in at least 3 of the scheduled doubles then you are a triple crowner...

https://www.caltriplecrown.com/info.htm

Davis Double is on the list. I can't comment on why the finishers aren't up yet.

Sometimes it takes a while for the results to be posted. It's a volunteer effort.

Well, it just means I won't be able to get my triple crown jersey by end of June (after completing Grand Tour). Or will I have to kill myself by doing Terrible Two ???? Nah!!! If they don't credit Davis by the time Knoxville comes around, I might have to do that ...

Well, there is a space for the Davis Double on the chart here
https://www.caltriplecrown.org/2007/2...n2=All&ClubID=

So obviously they're awaiting the results - so no worries, you'll get your credit for Davis.

As for getting your jersey right after you completed your 3rd double, eh, that might be dicey. Last year a friend of mine had to wait a few weeks after her 3rd double for the results to be updated before she could order her stuff. A little frustrating to be sure, but she got her jersey eventually (and a lovely windbreaker courtesy of her friends )

Too funny, I was just corresponding with a guy who had posted previously to the Davis Bike Club email list asking about the results. I emailed him yesterday to ask if he had heard back, and he said no, and he mentioned he was sending an email directly to the organizer. Hard to say from the timing whether his email moved things along, or if it was just coincidental.

At any rate, it looks like the Triple Crown results page is being updated as I speak. Congrats Ron, you're official.

Hey, and good luck this weekend. Tailwinds, rubber side down, and all that.

Thanks Jobob. Yea, it's a funny coincidence. My friend Lynn says they are always delayed, so it's probably just a coincidence.

I still think you could have targeted Grand Tour, but I guess it's too late now. Solvang Autumn is a tougher double than I have done all year. I'll see ... maybe I'll end up doing it with you.

Yeah, there are other doubles that would be better to do as a first one, but Solvang worked out schedule-wise. Plus, it's the weekend of my birthday. My 32nd. Yeah, that's it.

Too bad I didn't get this 'doubles bug' earlier in the year.

So spingineer, did you get your Triple Crown jersey yet?

A friend whose third was the Grand Tour received her jersey today.

So I ordered my triple crown jersey Friday, and just got order confirmation. However, I am not listed on the triple crown first time winner ... but if I look at the list of potential winners, I am listed on there as having completed 3. I just hate all this red tape If I do get my jersey, I am still going to wear it with pride, no matter if they consider me a triple crowner or not!

I am actually thinking about doing Knoxville at end of September, but not sure yet. We'll see what my body thinks by the time September rolls around. Then, if I do okay at Knoxville, might as well knock out Solvang in Autumn, and get my 1000 mile ... it's nice to dream, isn't it?

If you do Solvang, I'll buy you breakfast the next morning.

A couple of friends are doing it with me and I'll be treating them to Danish pancakes (they're like crepes ... yuuuum).

hmmm ... I know a bunch of my SoCal BF friends are doing Solvang Autumn. I think I'll finally decide when September comes around. But breakfast ... that's a tempting offer ...

I just checked the list and the friend who just received her jersey wasn't on the list of first-time winners either (tho she should have been), but the stats under her name shows that she completed three, just like your stats. So relax, you're official, wear your jersey with pride.

Plus, they wouldn't even process your jersey order unless you were an official whiner, er, winner
