Had Enough of Old La Honda???

I haven't ... so I'm riding with Western Wheelers on Monday, 5/28. We'll do both sides of Old La Honda ... short 30 miler.

If interested, we're meeting at 10 am at Gunn H.S. in Palo Alto (rolling by 10:15 am). This one has an address

780 Arastradero Rd, Palo Alto, CA

Now, I'll have to warn you this is a brisk group.

I loved that hill, Ron. If it weren't two and a half hours to drive there I would join you!

Sounds fun but I'm supposed to get in a 14mi run as part of my marathon training, then I'm taking the kids to see Shrek 3. I did set a PR (23:09) for OLH on Saturday so I'll enjoy that for a little bit longer.

So is the next BF-NorCal monthly ride the Giro di Peninsula? Did we agree on the last weekend of each month?

Dang!!! 23:09 ... that's smokin'

Yeah, let's get a contingent for Giro di Peninsula. I know Tracy is doing it, and I'm going to. Tracy says Tiffani is doing it, so it'll be fun to get a bunch of BF'ers to do this.

My PR is the same as your previous PR. Now you got me motivated to go for it next time!

It was hard trying to keep up with you Saturday! You're strong...(and young, and lightweight).

I must have legs, because I did a hilly recovery ride yesterday, in the hills of Redwood City. And back for more punishment. OMG, I'm sounding more and more like ME

yeah, if I had been able to ride yesterday it would have been very flat and very slow

Every little bit counts. Hey, you did a really tough ride, and you should feel really good about yourself. This is not something that everyone can do. Hill climbing is very personal, and I think you handled it very well.

It's too bad the picture of Sean pushing you up the hill came out a little blurry. Sorry about that.

Hey Trace~
Much better!! Thanks for checking on me. Doctors' say I will be out of this wheelchair real soon.
I might even get out today for a short local FLAT ride today. Didn't need any Advil yesterday..
My wife and I might drive (auto) the route today so she can see what we all accomplished then BBQ later. I really want to do the route on my bike again, maybe next weekend. It's a great weight losing, muscle building, willpower crushing, route. If I can make that my practice standard I think my growth as a biker would dramatically be accelerated. I feel a litttle bad because after the ride I kind of pigged out..

ps. How's are you doing convincing your DW that you need a roadie now?

I am clueless... you may want to talk to Sean though before you buy a new bike... he has a knack for finding the best used stuff and its likely you can get a much more upgraded bike for the same money.... then again, you may prefer to have a brand new bike all your own... just depends.... I'd create a new thread on the NorCal forum and see what suggestions they come up with; you'll probably get some good suggestions/input on this bike from them along with some other ideas as well

Naaah... You can do better. Uncompelling price for uncompelling product.

Are you interested in looked at used bikes? I think they make great beginner bikes because you can get a higher end bike for less money. I can help if you're interested.

Yup... definately more bike for the $$$ but he'd have to go around and find out what fits him first... Personally, that's probably the way I'll go next time
