The Stay Cool ride - Sunday July 8th?
Since it's getting warm lately, I thought I would extend an invitation to NorCal forum-ites for a ride along the cool coast this Sunday.
There's a nice 50+ mile, (approx. 3000 ft elevation) loop from Half Moon Bay to Pescadero, up Pescadero Creek Rd to Hwy 84, down to San Gregorio and back to HMB. Ocean views, rolling farmland and redwoods trees all in one ride. Lattes and scones at a coffee shop afterwards.
This will be a mellow, no drops, social ride. If you want more climbing for extra credit, I can provide side-routes that would get you back to the starting location.
I propose starting at 9am at the HMB fire station, corner of Main Street and Purissima Rd.
Anyone interested?

Unfortunately, I'm will be out of town this weekend. However, remember that wind along the coast is generally north-to-south so heading down Hwy 1 is a lot of fun, but going back up often is not. I always take the inland route heading north to avoid the wind and get a change of scenery. Try Stage, Verde, and Purisima on the way back. The inland route has a few rolling hills, but nothing tough.

Man!! I'd love to go but it's "family" day for me. Plus I have a softball game that evening so my wife would kill me for riding on Sat and Sun and then going to play ball!
If you do it again later on I'd like to join you guys!

Is this ride going to happen? Is it open to old slow guys?

You're more than welcome to join us. It's going to be a mellow, scenic ride, not a hammerfest. I'd love to meet you in person!

Directions:
Go West on Hwy 92 until it dead ends. Turn left on Hwy1. Go about 1.5 miles, the fire station is on your left (just past a Ford dealership). Turn left onto Purissima Rd. If you get to the second light, you've gone too far.
My cell phone is 202-487-9524 if you get lost.
