Maybe his "real" meant "way" NorCal.

mark-chico. We're sure not Bay Area. We use that as a reference point for out-of-the-area folks. |
real nor-cal
HA! LOL
you all know im halfway serious.... but seriously... if i have to drive 2-3 hrs south to get to teh bay area-im in nor-cal... and anything south of the grapevine is LA... =) in my redneck backwoods mind anything north of sac is nor-cal... where there is space between towns, people dont look at you funny if your 4wd has mud on it, your M/S tires actually SEE mud and snow.. =) where its all about growing food and not about growing subdivisions... =) course you all know CA is better than all those eastern states... i have a friend who moved east for work and teasingly wrote me about eh massive strenuous and intense climbs to the top of mountains out there.. at 2500' + jokingly of course... especially since he knows i reg ride that high on a bike or drive that high for work... =) mark. not startin a flame war-just making a funny observation. and BTW-i love nor-cal, its the suits in sac i hate... |
Awww crap. You mean all this time I've been in MidCal?? I feel tricked.
We need a MidCal forum. MODS!! |
Nope, from South Bay ... like San Jose, Santa Clara.
BTW, what defines NorCal? I guess we've been posting in the wrong forum. There is no Silicon Valley, or Peninsula regional forum. |

I think the commonly accepted line is SLO, but if you acutally divide the state in half its somewhere around Salinas. If you divide the state into thirds, real Nor-Cal starts above Sacramento, then there is Central California until a point just north of SLO/Bakersfield and then finaly So-Cal. (I drew a line from the NW corner of CA down to San Diego on Google Earth) I can't remember where the line is drawn if you split the population in half, my guess is probably near SLO somewhere. I live in SJC, but I used to live in Chico, does that count? |
Here's how I see it ...
LA County down to the Mexican border is SoCal From Ventura to Monterey is Central Coast North of Monterey is NorCal. |
YAY!! So I am in NorCal!! Right??
I really don't wanna be wearing the wrong jersey, ya know... |
sooo fun-knee.... ROFLOL!
i think the 3 way split that 'starvingdavid' stated is what im talking about... =) |
