Argh - I might be coming down with something, I was really tired on my last 2 rides.
So I'm going to play it by ear on Monday, and if I do come along, I might just go as far as Page Mill and head back down from there*. Sounds like a great ride is brewing, I'd hate to miss it entirely !
(* and conveniently arrive back in time for the Carvell to open )

If it's as hot as it was today, I think you'll have some people joining you going down Page Mill. That's what happened on the 4th of July ride ... most of us went down on Page Mill.

I am in for the ride but not in shape for the whole ride. Will probably go as far as Page Mill and return.

My "maybe" status has been changed to "I'll be there". Looking forward to meeting everybody!

If the heat is anything like today or yesterday, I'm sure there will be others that may be doing the same thing.

BTW just picked up the ice and stuff for cookies, so we'll try to be there before 9:am.
I'll come down 280, should I get off at foothill and north to Grant?

Yeap, and stay to your right.. You'll see Chevron. Turn there and follow the parking lot past Trader Joes, Chain Reaction is on the far side in the right corner.

Not being familiar with the area, should I/we be checking the weather for Los Altos or is there a better, more appropriate, location to check? I'm seeing temperature forecasts for low to mid 80's. Does this sound about right?

"Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s to mid 90s. West winds 5 to 15 mph."

The ballpark it. They can only narrow it down to around 10 degrees, so it could be anywhere from 83 to 95. I'd bet on 95.

well gang, I think I'm moving from a maybe to a no show. went out for short training rides yesterday and today, ended up exhausted and slept the afternoon. there was some bug going around my office last week, I think I must have a light dose of it, don't want to push myself any more.
enjoy yourselves, and take lots of pictures!

Think positive! The worst part - the climb up to Skyline - will be while it's coolest.

At 3 pm, my car showed outside temp of 91 (if you wanna believe that). Depending on how everyone feels, we'll do like we did last time ... bail out points include going down either Page Mill, or Hwy 84 ... I'll bring some route slips in case someone wants it.

If we start at 9:00, how long should it take to do the whole route? 4 hrs?

I find that these 90+ deg rides are enjoyable if there are spots along the way to soak your head w/ H2O. Perhaps we'll all just be riding from garden hose to garden hose.

Every time I see a hose in someone's front yard I think about that, but then I remember how they'd probably get kinda pissed if I helped myself.

91 would seem downright chilly right now..........
