9 am in the parking lot by Chain Reaction. There's also a Peet's Coffee there, so you can get your caffeine boost there too. Also, check out the OP (Original Post).

There was a question in another topic about shorter routes for this ride.

I just quickly mapped out a couple of possible options for shorter loops.

The main route is about 56 miles, 5600'.
https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...Kings-Mtn-Loop

If you take Page Mill down off of Skyline to Altamont and that back to Foothill, it looks like 33 miles, 4800'.
https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...Page-Mill-loop

If you cut off of 9 at Redwood Gulch, you can take that to Stevens Canyon and take that back to the start.
18 miles, 3000'.

Thanks for posting the shorter options, #2 is enticing for me, I've been a maybe because of time constraints, #2 shorter ride might work. And it's still a completely new ride for me, I don't think I've done any of it before, except maybe the Foothill Expwy part.

Oh I've got tons of routes in my head ... this is just one that I took the time to plot out on bikely. Just be glad I didn't take the route UP Redwood Gulch.

Oh, jeeez - been there, done that. You have to use the 15% sections to recover. Good thing the scenery was nice, because I had plenty of time to enjoy it on the way up.

You're supposed to go UP Redwood Gulch, not down
Seriously, this is a very steep and technical descent.

I'm going to ride this for the first time after work today. We'll see how much a lighter bike helps with the steep stuff. I did HW 9 on Monday, took about 44 min from the concrete bridge just after Pierce to Skyline. I don't want to get droped too badly on Monday's ride.

Did we ever determine the length of this ride? Is it 35-ish, or is it 60something, or do ppl just bail as they see fit off 1) RW Gulch 2) Page Mill 3) OLH 4) 84 or 5) Kings Mtn and make up their own mileage?

If you take it easy, it's not that bad, although Terry Morse said someone busted up their kidney in a crash coming down it once.

Dude, plan something on the weekend with the wife. I felt guilty too so I'm taking the wife and kids to a picnic this weekend to negate me riding on Monday.

I'm a maybe.

Depends on whether my family persuades me to BBQ a brisket on Monday. The pitmaster isn't allowed to leave the premises while BBQing.
