October BF Ride

So it looks like a bunch of people are doing rides on 10/6-10/7 and 10/20-10/21. Looks like these weekends are out for the NorCal BF ride for October. So the other weekends are 10/13-10/14 or 10/27-10/28. End of the month may be out, if some have family commitments for halloween, so how does 10/13 or 10/14 for the October ride sound?

Hey Ron, I'm still planning on heading up the Mt. Tam Oct. 27th ride, I'm back from the dead. I've been sick since just after Tour De Max. Found out I having a reaction to something in my envirorment. I've had a fever and a host of other symtoms. So I'm on anti-allergy medications, and finally got back on my bike this week, so I should be ok by Oct. I had planned on inviting everyone for a weekend day in the park but, being sick and time have kind of blown that out of the water... Anyway I'm up for the next BF ride, can't do the HMB ride I'm too punked for that right now.
Later
Pete

I could do Sunday, the 14th. Saturdays are out until after Thanksgiving (I've been roped into being a soccer coach for one of my kids' teams - pretty sad since I played football and swam in high school).

Glad to see you are doing better Taxi777. Oct 27 up Mt Tam sounds like a great ride. People should be recovered from their previous century rides by then.

Hahaha, AYSO, All Your Saturdays Occupied.
I was persuaded to coach one year... it was fun but I'm no soccer coach.

10/27 sounds OK for me. Will have to confirm on the family calendar.

Congrats on your first anniversary. Since you set the bar high for your first, You have to up that standard from now on. Ask me how I know.

Not necessarily. You have a full year after to work on some mediocrity. 14 yrs of experience has taught me that.

Of course I'm kidding.

I've never been up Mt. Tam. What should a rookie expect? Especially a not so strong up the hills rookie!

Nothing short of a great day with views. Just pace yourself. A long switchback climb, and a drop of around 400ft to alpine dam and a pretty tough climb up the backside, then seven quick climbs over looking Stinson and the Pacific and roll to the summit.
looking forward to seeing everyone.

Wow, what a reaction! Amazing to see such a large response. I'm game for a ride on 10/27 in Mt. Tam. I've never done that ride.

If anyone is interested, I was thinking of doing Calaveras on 10/13, over to Palomares.

Thanks for asking. Still have aches and pains and the bruises are fading. Looking forward to getting my feet wet again but gonna be a lot more careful (i.e. slowwwww) this time on the descent.

Yes sir!

Actually I am feeling so much better today. It's amazing to think that just 3 days (and 2 countries) ago I was limping around Paris choking down French aspirin (and I HATE taking drugs), barely able to walk up and down a step. Moving around seems to have helped, it felt best after walks and worst after being still in one position for a long time. Now I can walk up and down 5 flights of stairs in my hotel. Hopefully it will hold up to the long flight home. I don't think I'll push it by trying to find a Swiss rental bike though....

After I get home I am planning on scheduling a proper bike fitting before shopping for my road bike. Maybe I should also consider a folding bike for all of these trips!

Get a bike friday pocket rocket pro. That way you have a folding/road bike... not that I'm biased.

Sassy and I are doing this one. Hope some of you can make it 110 miles of fun. I don't think there is much climbing - but it didn't really say.
