Good place to lock up a nice bike in/around Union Square?

Specifically I want to go to the Westfield and a few other places in Union Square, and I was wondering if anyone knows any particularly secure places to lock a bike in that area.

i locked mine right in front of westfield before.

Lots of foot traffic there.

I have a Kryptonite New York U-Lock.

Allthough I don't lock up my really nice bike AT ALL... so But I don't use it to get around/commute.

Check the garages for monitored bike parking.

If you really want to lock it up.. Go to Westfield, lock it. When your done @ Westfield, get your bike and ride it somewhere else and lock it there... Keep it moving, and keep it nearby.

Bike lock

Bart bike locker maybe? Since I live in that area I thought about if I had to lock my bike anywhere, I would say, In front of Starbucks on Sutter and Stockton. It's between two high end hotels, lots of people standing around and the window tables face the outside so if I was a thief that would be the last place I'd steal a bike. Also sutter street garage or a hotel garage give one of the parking guys a couple of bucks to lock you bike up in plain view.
Pete
BTW is this a one shot deal or regular thing? what day?

Just a one time thing on Saturday. Going to a bbq in the city and I wanted to get some shopping done before, and hit up a few bike shops too (where I can just bring my bike inside). Might just end up riding my beater mountain bike, but being that I'm gonna be riding all around the city I'd like to take my fixie.

Unfortunately the bike parking place in Embarcadero is only staffed M-F (and just during commute hours)...otherwise you need to be a member with a key to get in.

I don't leave my bike any where in NYC, and if I do, I take my front wheels out, take my seat out and then lock it, but thiefs will always be there watching your every move. So becareful, but then again NYC is so unpreditable you might be surprise if you have a thousand cops in front of your bike when you get back from great New Yorkers watching your bike for you..HAHA, by the way which BBQs are you going to. We have one on the East Side and One on the West Side, my favorite restaurant for BBQ, is VIRGIL"S and you would die and gone to heaven when you taste their Ribs and food. hehe. ; ), but then again listen to tax777, I live in Gramecy park, almost close to that area, I am just being a New Yorker and worrying to much about my bike.

Peace, Love and hugs,

NYCJAZIE.
