11/3 - 11/4 Anyone wanna go for a ride?

The forecast this weekend calls for temps in the mid-70's again. I'd like to go for a ride, maybe 30-50 miles or so. I don't have any particular route planned, but maybe something like San Ramon, out to Livermore, and back via Pleasanton. Or maybe up throught Moraga and back down redwood Road/Crow Canyon. I'm open to suggestions.

Not a hammer-fest, a leisurely, fun ride.

Anyone?

I always plan to go but haven't been successful lately. How about I PM you later this week. San Ramon, Moraga, etc is close. I am in Benicia.

I was planning on my Fremont to Berkeley ride, but could be persuaded to go a different route. Have any further details?

Depending on the ride, I might be interested. Would an out-and-back ride on Mines be interesting or boring?

Hmm, Mines Rd, sounds interesting. I've never been on it on two wheels.

Just an FYI but there's a vintage ride going on in Livermore on Saturday if you're into that kind of thing.

I'm thinking of starting in Fremont and going up Palomares Rd and riding out to Cull Canyon Regional Park (in Castro Valley) for a bathroom break. And then riding back the same way.

Let me know if anyone wants to join me. I'll be heading out around 8am on Saturday.

I may do that ... where are you starting from?

I live in Fremont so I'll be starting from home but there are lots of spots to meet. I live very close to Central Park (Lake Elizabeth) so we could meet there. Maybe at the senior center? There is lots of parking and public bathrooms available.
https://www.ci.fremont.ca.us/Recreati...rk/default.htm

Another park to meet is at Quarry Lakes:
https://www.ci.fremont.ca.us/Recreati...es/default.htm
But this has a parking fee.

My plan is to start around Central Park, head down Paseo Padre, stop at Quarry Lakes for a bathroom break. Ride through Niles to Niles Canyon Rd and then to Palomeras Rd.

I'm going to start here in San Ramon, loop out to Livermore and come back, and choose the route as I go. Depending on how I feel, that will yield a ride anywhere from 30-50 miles in length and take me through some nice country.

Probable route will be up Sycamore/Tassajara to Highland, and over Collier Canyon. From there on it'll be freestyle...... Last time I did that, Mhendricks and I ended up with 50+ miles, looping through Sunol before turning back through Dublin.

Bossman,
If nobody bites on taking a ride with you tomorrow, how about bringing out that Super Mondia that's collecting dust and doing a vintage group ride out of Livermore tomorrow morning. We're starting around 9:30 and meeting at Springtown Golf Course. Let me know!

TELL ME MORE

Rich wants to come out tomorrow to test ride his newly built Cooper. We've got the vintage goods, we need a place to cruise with 'em where they'll be appreciated!! What to bring is the thing - Mondia or Merckx. Heck, even the Palo Alto is "vintage".

Descisions, descisions........

I wish we could come ride with you again, in your neck of the woods, BBM. Unfortunately I have to get on an airplane for Milan/Venice this weekend. Will be gone all week and no biking. Smoooth and Sassy are thinking of a ride in their area some time soon. Maybe we can hook up then.

Like I said these guys from the (CR) list do a vintage ride every month and this week they are doing one out of Livermore. About 35 miles through the vineyards and they stop for lunch. You'll see old Cinelli, alex singer, Masi, and more. I'm bringing my Sekai 5000 Superlite which I built up but definitely will be put to shame by a Super Mondia and a Ron Cooper. I can e-mail you tyhe details when I get home.

Please do!! Although, Rich's Cooper is sporting a new Campy 10 speed drive train - the bast-id vandalized it!! Can you believe the sacrilege?!?! Who would do such a thing?

Hey guys, looks like I am hooking up with some friends to do a ride in Napa tomorrow, so I am out for the group event (whatever it turns out to be). Hopefully next time...

I ended up having to bail on riding on Saturday. Got some other errands that I have to do, so I won't even be able to get on the bike today. However, Sunday is still open.

I think I'll ride Hwy 9 to Skyline then north on Skyline. Nice little local ride.

Gee, BBM, I don't know. Who would do so dastardly a thing as to run modern full-zoot 10-speed Campy stuff on old lugged steel?
