Be careful out there ... drivers are nuts today

I think I now know why I start my rides at either 8 or 9 am. I started my ride at 11 am, and wow, the drivers out there are nuts. They break all the rules.

This one particular driver, in a black prius, on Junipero Serra, was getting a little impatient (where there is no shoulder room), and decided to pass us on the left. She also had a cell phone in her ear, and as she was passing, there was an oncoming car. They missed each other. Then, about 500 yards later, I see her pulled off to the side of the road (probably continuing her cell phone conversation). I guess she doesn't have the bluetooth phone accessory that most Prius have.

Then, more idiots don't believe in signaling. I was pulling up to an intersection, and the guy to the left about 2 cars ahead of me pulls a sharp right turn. I was going pretty leisurely, so I had time to react. Drivers are dangerous this time of year. Glad to get home in one piece.

That's the same reason why I like to start my rides early as well... Less cars on the road, especially Sunday mornings. Glad you got home okay though.

- ha! that's nuttin' compared to the under- and over-medicated senior citizen Snowbirds infesting our area... i almost got creamed by a Buick Roadmaster land yacht the other day... these people are nuts on the trail, nuts on the road, and nuts in the grocery store!

(think thousands of 90s-era V8 sedans with electric scooters on a trailer hitch on the roads in your area and you get the idea; this is the only place where there's a parking shortage for handicapped spots)

p.s. and yes, the snotty twits in Prius cars are pretty bad here, too!

I'm one of those Prius twits ... and I really try not to drive like them. They've got the bluetooth feature for a reason ... why the f*&)()* don't they use it?

Christmas present shoppers are all stressed out and driving erratically, especially near shopping centers.

Christmas tree shoppers are making their once-a-year drive up in to the mountains to cut down a tree. Most of them don't know how to drive safely on mountain roads and don't really know where they are going, either.

Be careful out there.
