    WAR in the Valley

I posted this before in the "New Guy" thread. Since the WAR rides have officially started, I thought I would post it again...

Everyone is welcome to ride this. You don't have to be a racer or club member. You will have to sign a waiver though. Last night there were about 25 riders. We had two young siblings, which are are part of the local Jr. Racing Team hold their own amongst the pelaton. It was great to see these two kids in action.

The ride has no drop policy for there are two area's where we wait for straglers to catch up. The group is quite varied in ability and speed and there's a group for everyone. So if you happen to find yourself in the Valley during a Wednesday, come on out. Rides start promply at 5:30.

Looking for a chateau. Twenty-one rooms but one will do. I don't want to buy it. I just want to rent it for an hour or two.

Cool, is it always the same route?
I used to ride to work from Hammer Ln up West Ln to Lodi (Harney) and recall the road is really wide with nice shoulders.

Yes, always the same route. It goes in a clockwise direction. The roads have plenty of shoulder on them. The exception is W. Acampo. This is a rural road with a lot of bumps. I would describe this as "Cobbles" of the ride. With the wind on your back, one can fly down this road.

Depending which road we're on, traffic can be pretty light.

This sounds like fun, i have relatives in Lodi, I could come down spend the night. What types of averages happen on these rides (not that it matters much, just looking for some sprirted riding).

    It is fun.
As for the averages...hmmm. That's a hard one to gauge. Once the ride gets going averages get up to the 21 - 22 +-. It depends on pelaton/echelon speed, wind, pace, etc.

And you are right, it is spirited riding.
