Post Your Favorite Route

What's your favorite ride?

The searches on places like Bikely seem to be pretty random and/or useless, so I thought it'd be nice if everyone shared their favorite (or several favorite) routes with the group.

What do you like about it? How difficult is it, and how's the scenery? Any variations? Post up a Bikely route if possible, or at least a detailed enough description that out-of-towners unfamiliar with the area can enjoy the ride without getting lost.

That's a tough choice. My top pick would probably go to one of the Sierra Nevada climbs. But for something closer to home for me (Easy Bay), and rideable 52 weeks a year (unlike the Sierra climbs), my choice would be:

This route starts and ends at the Park-and-Ride in Danville, turning around at the North Gate ranger kiosk.

My favorite local ride:

Start at Stanford University
Up Page Mill Rd. to Skyline
Down Alpine Rd. on the other side
Left on Pescadero Road
Right on Stage Road
Lunch at the bakery in Pescadero
Continue on Stage Road
Right on Hwy 1
Right on Tunitas Creek Rd to Skyline
Down Kings Mountain on the other side
Left on Woodside Rd
Right on Alameda de las Pulgas back to Stanford

KLIMB says 61 miles and 6300 feet of climbing.
