I did this ride last year for the first time. It's a very nice, scenic ride. Not a whole lot of climbing, but enough to let you know you did something. I think there were 2 sustained climbs, with a total of around 5,000 feet across the entire ride. The support was really good, for the most part. At one SAG stop, the water was coming out of a hose and tasted nasty - that was the only negative any of us had. The post-ride BBQ was nice, too. A good century - well worth doing.

Scott- Great review- thanks for posting. Sounds like an amazing ride, but a pretty tough one at that. Crazy story about the bridge, too!

Wow.. I was just up there yesterday.. never knew about this, but was wondering the whole time I was driving my group of winos around, "Why don't they do an event up here?"

IN <-- 65mi. most likely.

This is a great century (or less) with a fantastic BBQ at the end. The ride is well supported and most all riders I met were friendly.

I rode solo and the ride took me 5 1/2 hours (with one 15 minute stop for lunch) - but it should be noted that I am a clydesdale (215 lbs). There are only really two main climbs - Mt. Veeder and Ink Grade. Mt. Veeder is early in the ride and is only a challenge at the end. Ink grade is after lunch so you have a full stomach and the sun can get you.

One note - recommend stopping at the last rest stop which is on the Silverado Trail.

Cheers

I did the 100k last year - it's a great ride. I'm planning to be there again this year.

Don't eat too mcuh before Ink Grade. Start early because it gets hot. Great food afterwards. I did the metric last year and it was fun!
