    Anyone Near Santa Rosa?

Greetings Nor Cal, I am currently residing in rohnert park/ santa rosa neighborhood and was wondering if anyone in here was from around that area, and if so, if we can set up some fun jaunts around the beautiful sonoma county area.

I'm about an hour north of you in Ukiah but I make my way to Santa Rosa often, probably would to more so with someone to ride with.

Quite a few Northern California Bikeforums types will be headed up your way for the Wine Country Century ride on May 3. Unfortunately, registration is closed, so unless you've signed up already, it may be hard to get a spot.

On the other hand, there's going to be a nice, casual ride on Saturday, April 12 in San Francisco. If you don't mind the drive, you're welcome to attend.

Check the Santa Rosa Cycling Club which has some excellent rides for all, and I mean all except for Levi Leipheimer, abilities (don't let the 55 year old guys fool you, they will kick your ass every direction).

Myself I live in Healdsburg on the weekends and typically ride both days, one day with the wife at piano tempo and one day at a more rapido tempo, often with the club but sometimes solo or just with whomever I can scrape up.

MetalClydesdale - you've got some brilliant riding up there. I got a wild hair one weekend and told the wife "We are going to Hopland and going this loop to Yorkville, Boonville, Ukiah, and back to Hopland. Looks like it could be pretty cool. That road from Boonville to Ukiah is the bomb.

The Petaluma Wheelmen also offer good rides with good people. Go to their website (sorry don't have time to give you the link.)

I live in Sebastopol. Seems like most of my road riding is commuting these days. Maybe the longer days will change that. I used to do Saturday morning rides from Hub's cyclery in cotati. They were about 40 miles in the West Marin/Sonoma county area, not too hilly. Give em a call.

I live in Santa Rosa. Commuting takes care of most of my biking cravings. I tend to take the class A rides. That means the easy ones in the Santa Rosa Cycling club. Watch for the Bruce Gordon bike with the 100 watt headlight. I met two other BF types a couple of weeks ago on a ride out to Korbel. They posted my picture on BF.

You are close enough to Santa Rosa, join the SRCC. They always need volunteers to work the Wine Country Century. Volunteer to work the ride for volunteers (it does make sense) and you get to ride the regular century for free.
