I run a 42 x 17 and find it to be a good compromise up and down Berkeley. When you first go fixed, watch out for the bike bucking you like a horse when you forget you can't coast -- you will learn fast. What I learned was how often I would coast for just a second, like when changing my position on the saddle. Also, if you are past your mid-thirties, be sure to actually use those brakes, not your legs, for most of your braking (but you will love the control by just using your legs in slow traffic and at lights).

Henry, let's ride dude!

My first ride will be in with the ALC alumni in the Pride parade! I'm picking it up on Sat afternoon.
Taxi I was at AC too this morning @ 10 am. I had to drop off my my other bike and I was hanging out in the back grease monkey room. I could have sworn they were working on this bike same bike... hmm wondering if it was your bike or someone else that had bought a similar set up .

Anyway I have to say that is a sweet looking bike in person, almost had me wanting to get one \

Dude! that was my bike they were rushing for me cause I told them I needed it tomorrow. They finished and called me around noon. They did a great job. I took it out today but I was wiped, and still enjoyed it.

This is one was especially made for you Pete.
One thing missing though, it won't be complete without a taxi777 decal.
And what about this blue avatar, the yellow has to be back!

Very cool, Pete! Those city-specific Langsters are fun, and that one is so you.

I run 47x16 (previously 52x16) on my fixed gear bike, which is fine for around here, but my legs were burning for a week after the Oddball ride.
