Awesome solo ride this morning
I was determined to map out a safe and manageable ride between 40 and 50 miles here in Sacramento, and something that wasn't the ARBT. I mapped out a mutation of longer version of this: https://centralcaliforniacycling.com/SRL.html
Here's the link to part of my actual route on Google Maps, starting at the 39th St Light Rail station: https://rubyurl.com/bFir
The last 12 miles or so that you don't see were taking the ARBT to Sac State and then back to the 39th St station.
I must say, we live in such a beautiful area, love NORCAL! I took some pictures along the way off my phone; since it was a solo ride, my bike (2008 Specialized Allez Elite Compact) was featured - you can click the pictures to go to Flickr where you'll see where the pic was taken.
Quick break at Garcia Bend Park:
After crossing Freeport Bridge
Up S. River Road by Yolo County Vineyards
After crossing Tower Bridge

Nice ride you had... Weather was pretty cooperative too. I went back to school shopping with my soon-to-be first grader and really wanted to ride today, but there's always tomorrow. Oh! And there will be riding tomorrow.

Nice job nasv! Sounds like a great ride. +1 on NorCal -- I'm just amazed it took me so long to get out there and enjoy it on my bike.
IIRC, you haven't been riding too long -- how was the 50miler?

@Redspoke: awesome, enjoy your ride tomorrow!
@Beaker: yeah, I haven't been riding too long, barely a couple of months. This was my 2nd ~50 miler and on both, the last 10 miles have been painful, but to be expected, right? This was the first time I did a more "scenic" route, and I definitely enjoyed it.
@Rushfan: yeah, I did see the Tandem-nights-wheelsucker ride and I'm actually trying to figure out if I can make it (Saturdays are a little easier for me, though I worry that I'd be a total lag for you guys, and I haven't tried 70 miles yet :-/ ). I'm definitely watching the thread and will be a day-before decision.
