Beat The Clock : September 20th

Canada Road 10 mile TT:

September 20th seems to be one of the busiest weekends of the year with many ride choices. I should really be riding the Knoxville Fall double, Everest Challenge or the Auburn Century but my body has had enough of the long distance stuff for one year so I am going to be riding a 10 mile time trial instead . My better half is riding too.

Anyone else riding this ?

The final Beat the Clock event of the year this Saturday, September 20th. Bright and early as
always. Sign up here:

Or, if your season is over already, they always need volunteers!

I registered for the individual TT. Hermes and I are supposed to be in "active rest" for the month of September (so we are rested to start off-season training in October); as a result, I haven't been doing any TT work. But I can't miss the last BTC of the season - a good cause, always fun and Wicked needs a work out.

We're taking a pass. I'm wokring -- out of town clients who want to be in-town clients. Sorry to miss it, but a girl's gotta earn a living.

Hope everyone who rides has a new PB.

Does this mean that it's going to be hard to ride canada on the 20th then? I'm just looking to go for a nice recovery ride. I suppose I could just do skyline.

The TT was over by 8:30 AM - first rider off was 7 AM. We had to use flashights to put the bikes on the trainer - but at least it wasn't cold!

Nice seeing you today Velodiva, you looked to be going well . It was actually a pretty nice day for racing. Getting up at 5am was no fun though and even then I was a bit late getting there so I only had 5 minutes warm up. My wife enjoyed the event too.

Good to see you as well. Did your wife do the TT too? When was your start time? We didn't see too many people warming up - we were lucky to get a good 20 minutes of warm up. I would have died with only a 5 minutes warm up - one thing we learmed the hard way last year. The air was heavy - in general, not a day for personal bests. There was even some drizzle when I finished. The Beat the Clock events are for such a great cause - Patt does a great job and thanks to all the volunteers. Looking forward to next year!

I ended up doing a personal best for that course although a long way off my personal best for the distance. My wife rode too and she did a really good time(it was her first Canada Road event) to take 5th place. I managed to get 11th on my recumbent
