Mega-mofo laid back ride from West SJ to Woodside 9/20?
I have the entire day to spend with my 7 year old daughter tomorrow. I was able to penetrate the Wall of Miley Cyrus and talk her into doing a ride with me (her trail-a-bike attached to my bike). The current fantasy is to go up to Woodside and back. It's a long distance in the saddle for a little one so I am anticipating lots of rest stops as well as the possibility of not even making it all the way
If you're interested in joining us, reply or drop me a PM. We will probably roll out around 8-9 a.m. from the San Tomas/Hamilton Ave area.

Sounds like a great way to spend time with her.
We will want to see pictures of course.

Yeah, I am thinking about packing my DSLR + good lens.
As to the pace, I'm not sure how slow it will be...she *is* a racer, after all:

Not my best photographic work but just to document the event...
First stop, Peet's (where else?) (but, wrong one...this is the one at Homestead & Foothill):
Li'l Poseur:
We did not quite make it to Woodside, but now that there is a Robert's at Alpine & Portola, it was close enough. Enjoying our lunch at the park on the corner there. Halfway, 22.5 miles or so out:
Our trusty steed(s?):
Took a break at Shoup park and met some Alto Velo friends there. The kid took advantage of the opportunity to play in the sand (she *is* seven, after all):
Obligatory White Garage Door Photo:
Final tally of miles:
We had a great time out there, saw quite a few cyclists and even managed to drop a few

Ha ha! I am not sure. Actually I think she (well, that trail-a-bike, which weighs more than my bike) cost me some. I occasionally took a peek at the wattage and it was about the same (i.e. *I* was putting out the same effort) in key places along the way, but at 1-2 MPH slower than I would normally be going. Hills were especially tough, but we actually got hauling along pretty good on the flats and especially the slight downhill from Alpine/Portola down to Foothill (we did not go over Arastradero). She pedaled the whole way and never complained once. Naturally, I'm quite proud of her
