Time for a Friday Hooky Ride! " RIDE REPORT"

Picture Perfect Day!

To think I almost didn't make it today! I started the day really trashed. Long night dealing with my job. some how I managed to stay awake long enough to get off at the right stop. Dan got there just about the same time, John a few minutes later. Weather was great with clear skies.

Our first Coffee of the day.

Dan trying to be inappropriately sexy "El Monte y El Diablo."

Dan and I had some coffee before taking off. We took time to admire the pretty Senora behind the counter and did manage to get some flirting in even with my slow sleepy brain. I wasn't really into riding, but once I got the circulation moving in my body I got more into it. The route that Dan brought us on was really scenic! I'd done the upper road but not this lower route... much better! There was very low traffic and lot's of photo ops.

The property with all the sculptures was really neat and John getting attacked by "Lola the BiPolar" dog was funny!
Riding across the Bridge for my first time in Carquinez was a fantastic experience!

The three of us were a great combination for the day. Melo & middle aged youngsters with lot's in common. We were the "Blabbiators." Probably the best part of the day was stopping at the "Valona Deli"...They had the tastiess sandwiches in the world!

If I look a little distracted here...I had the camera set for automatic, but right when the shutter clicked a very hot looking lady walked by the window!

I was sleepy and spacy most of the day, falling into silence and a little out there...I was hoping Dan and John were'nt getting too bored with me.
I had to end the ride early for myself, I was just too tired even though I was really enjoying myself, so I bailed out in Orinda. I kept falling asleep on the Bart...I was hopless.

Thanks you guys for the company I really enjoyed myself and I'm ready for some more "Hooky days"

Looks like you guys had fun. Looks like a good excuse to use up some PTO time (and I got a ton of them). Maybe next time.

Hey ron, you really would have enjoyed this one, kind of indescribable mellowness ride...We just took it easy on the hills and ate a lot...mostly blabbed. One of the most social rides, more of a tour!

Very nice. I on the other hand had a much more busy Friday that I would have liked (not a good busy but a bad busy).

I'm thinking we need to do this again in a few weeks and see what kind of holiday decorations that wacky house has up!

Darn it, I blinked and missed this announcement. I so could have made it. Heck, there are never rides near me, and you did one, and I choked. DARN!

Looks like fun, and it was a great day, weather wise.

Except for when I dropped the hammer on Franklin Canyon Rd.

It was nice to pay you back for some of the wheel sucking on you I did during the Davis Century.

Hey, Dan,

Met your wife this morning - we were trying to talk her into a group that goes up diablo on Tuesday afternoons.......

The TnT ride split into two groups - one that did a tour of the parking lot, for folks that weren't too sure of themselves, and one that did an easy 30-ish mile short version of the Paradise Loop. Somehow she ended up on the parking lot ride?

Personally, I paid a bit this morning for yesterday's excesses.

Jonathan,

My wife enjoyed meeting you very much. Her comfort distance right now is 30-40 miles and she was kind of bummed she got assigned (mis-assigned?) to the parking lot ride. She kept a good attitude about it though and they did get out for a 10 mile spin.

I hope to ride with you again soon.

I found out someone else who did 4 of the 5 Death Ride passes this year also was doing the parking lot tour. It seemed like a big crew, and it was only the 2nd ride, so I think the coach will get it all sorted out next time.

I was hoping to be roving SAG for when they do the 3 Bears, but it looks like they don't need me. Maybe we should go counter clockwise that Saturday and cheer them on?!!
