Montebello Sundays 11/23
I know Ron is out of town, but the weather looks good and I'll be off the bike for a week over Thanksgiving so I'm hoping some of you may want to continue the new Sunday ride.
I'm not as familiar with that area, but I know my way to Montebello, Redwood Gulch, Peirce and Mt. Eden. I'm sure we could make a good loop out of those.
Anyone interested?

I'm interested but will be going out of town this weekend (last minute plans) so I'll miss this ride as well as the LKHC.

There's a chance I'll be going out late on Saturday night, so may not make this ride this Sunday...unless you are thinking of leaving early afternoon?

Bumping this.
I'm going to meet a friend at Holmstead & Foothill Pete's at 9:30. He's even more noob than I am, so I expect that we will do an up & back of Montebello.
If anyone (Russel!) is interested in joining us for that portion, great. We might go farther but I'm expecting not.

Too early for me tomorrow.
I'll probably get something in starting around noonish.

Great *short* ride everyone. Ramon, it was nice to watch you fade into the distance up Montebello. Jack, we need to start doing some real distance rides if double centuries are in the works.
I think Craig has a future in riding if he wants it. Hopefully we'll see him again.
Anyway, thanks for coming out and giving me someone to chase up the hill!

I actually got a head start on Chris and Ramon yesterday (they were waiting for Craig and his friend) at the base of Montebello. I don't know how long they waited, but I do know that Ramon passed me about maybe 100 yards to the finish, and Chris came shortly after I arrived. I had thought I was going to just wait at the top and flex my muscles upon Ramon and Chris' arrival. Alas, I was doubled over and panting like a dog when Chris came up, while Ramon was already looking bored. Thus my comment of needing to climb better. Either that, or I am still trying to convince myself to spend more money on upgrading the components! If not for the weight, at least do it for the bling!!

I have good components, what I need now is better willpower to follow a stricter diet. Of course, as I write this I'm eating the 3rd piece of banana bread a coworker brought in and washing that down with hot chocolate.

Mmm donuts. Someone brought in a big box of them this morning.
I thought I was overdressed for the ride yesterday with the full leg warmers, long sleeves and jacket. Normally the upper part of the descent I'm freezing but it worked out well until the very bottom where I was going quite fast to catch up with a car.

My weakness is ramen noodle, aka 2000-calorie-salty-bowl-of-goodness.
