mountain biking near Jackson
I have two weeks off work coming up and a friend suggested today that we go visit her mom in Jackson and/or go mountain biking.
Does anybody know of any fairly easy trails up that way?

Lots of rides in the general area. Try this website:
https://www.foothilltrailhounds.com/
This is a very active group based out of the Jackson area. If the webpage doesn't answer your questions, contact someone from the group. Also, Jackson Family Sports is the local bike shop in Jackson, great people!

Nothing really around Jackson that is available to the public. You'll have to drive south to New Melones or Hogan Lake for trails. These trails are quite different from one another and can be a lot of fun. New Melones is a lot easier than Hogan.
If staying in Jackson, you have a lot of different road bike options. If you like hills, there are some incredible rides in that area.

Thanks to both of you. New Melones is considerably closer to me, but it defeats the purpose of combining the two trips. Maybe we'll just hit the ARBT instead. Would be nice to go someplace new, but I don't do the ARBT often anyhow.
As far as road bike options... my friend is still in the dark ages of a rigid mountain bike. She says she wants a "real bike" but they just bought a house so it won't be for a while. She also has some issues with riding on the road with traffic. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but she prefers to avoid roads.
