Out of the hospital
I'm home from the hospital. Hernia surgery went well. The meds have worn off and I'm not in much pain, except for my throat where the breathing tube was, go figure?
I was able to eat some toast and had some coffee. First solid food in well over 24 hours. Feeling pretty good all things considered. It'll be a while before I can get back on the bike.
Post op in 2 weeks.

Is it a good omen for recovery that I'm not going to need the vicoden, at least, not today?

Made it through the night without any drugs. I really don't want to take the vicodin. Rolling over and getting out of bed were both extremely painful, but I'm a cyclist. I know how to suffer!

Get well soon. Sounds like you will be back on the bike perfectly timed for wildflower season in NorCal.
