Eddy Merckx Team SC stolen in Mill Valley

Hi all - A bike belonging to list member maillotpois was stolen last night in Mill Valley (Marin county).

It's an irreplaceable one of a kind bike: Eddy Merckx Team SC with 2003 Mavic special edition tour de France wheels.

Here's a picture of it; it didn't have the handlebar bag and huge saddle bag when it was stolen (this pic was taken just before she headed out on a 600K)

Needless to say, it's very special to her. She's ridden lots of double centuries and brevets on this bike.

And those of you who know maillotpois know she is a great lady and does not deserve this crap, not that anyone does.

Please, if you come across this bike at a flea market, Craigslist, etc, please let the police know.

Many thanks.

That really sucks - it's hard to imagine her riding anything else!

Thanks for posting this, Jo. I am just devastated. They even stole my cycling shoes which were also in the car. At least they'll be able to ride it.

Mill Valley PD case # MV10-304.

Serial # K 5590.

Very sorry about this maillotpois. Sure hope it comes back to you unscathed. The loss of a bike is a very personal. Been there twice myself.

I used to have nightmares about having my Eddy Merckx stolen.
Then I'd have daydreams about what I'd do to the thief.
