Official Devil Mountain Double thread
April 24, less than a month away! 206 miles, anywhere from 18,000' to 20,000' ft of climbing depending on what computer you use. Did I register yet?

Marco has plotted out this route for Saturday's ride. Most unpleasant. Quimby, both sides of Mt. Hamilton then toss in Sierra for a quadfecta of elevation sensation. 70 miles, 9300'.

There's a really fun road race that I am signed up for on that day. Darn, and I had such a fine time failing to complete DMD last year.

Registration form is sent. I am sad to be riding it solo v. tandem this year.
I am also sad that I am horribly out of shape, and will suffer immensely because of that!

While my artistic skills with the dry erase pen are not the greatest I did try to showcase each of the four ghosts raw talents. The climber, sprinter, all-arounder, and the one that will punish on the flats. Keep them in mind while on the course. Always behind you out of sight but ready to consume.

Edit disclaimer: My cardio is great. The biggest issues I'm having right now are hot foot (left), achillies pain (left), and knee (right). I just turned 30 in January, and man, have I fallen apart.

I had a stress dream where I showed up to DMD registration with no bottles, an hour late. Everyone was gone, I was the last one there.
I'm doing everything I can to get ready. Solvang was training!

My best "in shape" day was 2 complete summits of Mt. Diablo (north and south). And I thought I was doing pretty good!

I'm horribly out of shape too. So, I'm just gonna ride around the block and call it a day.

Signing up for DMD was the best diet decision I've ever made. Before I snack, I think about 20k climbing in 1 day.

My DMD "progress."
- Left knee messed up
- Sick for the past week (voice is half gone)
- Feel like I have no power due to sickness
However I am doing what I can...
- Somehow completed the last wrecking crew ride (Quimby Hamilton, Sierra), but barely... I had no power at all.
- Ordered a Cho-Pat dual action knee strap for my let knee
- Ordered a foam roller to stretch the IT Band.
- Ordered a new Record 10spd chain from PBK

Marco, you convinced me to also break out the foam roller I'd been neglecting for so long.
It's agonizingly painful. That is all.

Running!? I was going to run with my gf tonight after I ride home, but I've thought better of it. Too good a chance of irritating my knee, or shins, or anything else.
Main concern right now is getting the Roubaix back in time for DMD. It's looking like backup-bike for this weekend.
Saturday I was thinking of doing some Diablo repeats, starting at 9am from the school on the South side. Anyone reading this that wants to go up at 9am or 10:45 or maybe even 12:30, let me know.
