Mt. Diablo ride in memory of my father

My wonderful father, Glenn, passed away early this morning.
I'm going to ride to the top of Mt. Diablo on Sunday and think of him as I look out across the world.

I'd like to invite my bikeforums.net friends to join me and my sweet wife, MyLilPony

We plan to leave Arbolado Park in Walnut Creek at 6:30 AM.

Curtis - I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not 100% yet, but I'll try to get my morning organized to make it and ride with you.

The day after my mom passed away last month, I went to the summit of Diablo too. It's such a special place to go and reflect; I hope you can get a moments tranquility up there at this difficult time.

Curtis,

Please accept my condolence for the loss of your Father. I'm very sorry to read this. As others have said, Mt. Diablo is a pretty special place for a reflective ride.

In March of last year, my Father had passed away. My three Brothers and I, as well as an "Honory Brother" did a ride up Diablo in his memory too. It was quite a special ride. Enjoy each turn of the pedal.

Regards,

BR

As tributes go, this is as good as it gets.

I know quite a few people who have found a special site up there to contemplate life and death; I'm sure you will too.

I've already got the spot picked out where I want my ashes scattered (be it tomorrow or 50 years from now).

Peace to you Curtis and MLP.

Curtis, I am very sorry to hear this.

I have known Glenn for more than 15 years from the camera club. Aside from an outstanding photographer, Glenn was a very fine man. He always had nice words for all and was the voice of reason at our board meetings. I personally enjoyed his witty spirit and constant encouragements. It was sad seeing his health degrade in the last year, yet it didn't take his smile and good nature away. He made quite an impression when he showed up with a heck of a nice walking stick!
I am sure he is shooting some incredible masterpieces from heaven.

I will try to join the ride up Diablo tomorrow morning.

As being told many times: "when you lose you head you have to make the legs work!" (raw translation from French proverb).
Only really bothered me while standing or spinning fast. I couldn't keep up with Rich and Brent on the flat on the way back below the Ranger station.
