Neko and teh bf are going to SF!

Hey guys, my bf and I are going up to SF/Oakland next week, either Wednesday or Thursday, and we'll be staying for two days. Anyone up for a meet up?

Teh bf definitely wants to go to Yoshi's on one of the nights we're there, but otherwise, we're just gonna be wandering around the city. If you guys have any suggestions on what to do while we're up there--non-touristy stuff, since we've both done most of the touristy stuff already--that'd be great too.

Awesome. Will you have your bikes? I may be able to do an evening ride one of those days.

Nah, no bikes. I wanted to bring my foldie to get around town, but my doc says don't go up too many hills, and SF is pretty much all hill.

Check out FunCheapSF or Weekend Sherpa for some good ideas.

You can get to _most_ of SF without any steep hills. Where are you staying? What kind of food do you like?

We'll be coming in by train Wed morning, staying overnight at a friend's place in Oakland, and leaving a bit before midnight on Thursday evening. I think teh bf has reservations for Yoshi's in Oakland Wednesday night, and we're definitely spending at least half a day at the CAS on Wednesday because it's free, and we love free stuff. What kind of food do we like...everything as long as it is cheap and good (but no peanuts because I am allergic ). We're definitely checking out the taco trucks in Oakland because our friend recommended it.

Are there many foosters (or Foo lurkers) in NorCal besides X and Siu? It'd be fun to meet up Thursday night (after my ride ).

Ehehe, yeah, NorCal fooster meetup would be nice! I don't think we have any set plans for Thurs evening, well, aside from the fact that we have to get to the greyhound station by 11pm.

I have nothing against street vendors selling food, I ate enough of it in my life, but those things scare me. lol

Oh, question: what's the best way to use the public transportation system? Clipper card? Just pay cash?

Well for BART you can either pay cash or use credit card to buy the "tickets". For busses I only used them couple of times in SF, and it's cash.

I believe you get a multi-day pass for the transit system in SF. It'll be good for cable cars, buses and the subways but not the BART. Check the Website.
