Any Turkey Day Rides?

I have nothing to do.. all my family is back in Baltimore and my GF may be working most of the day.

Anyone doing any big rides?

I was thinking SF to SJ.. BART is on Sunday hours, so I was going to take it up to SF from Fremont and then head south!

I'm not even sure I can make it up Mt Ham. LOL

Calaveras put the hurt on me the other day...

I'm terrible at climbing.. I've done centuries on a fixed but have trouble climbing with a compact and 16lb bike.. haha.

Even if you're not doing the LKHC, there'll be a lot rides/riders heading up Mt. Ham on Turkey Day.

For a flatter ride in the East Bay, there's the annual Turkey Day ride from Cal Pedaler in Danville. Here's the route and some pictures from a couple years ago:

And a video of the beginning part of last year's ride:

I'll be one of them. Can't make the time of the LK, but hope to convince a few people to come out earlier.

I think I'm going to ride into Milpitas from Fremont, up Calaveras and descend down the other side, then ride 84 for awhile and take Foothill back towards 84/Fremont, then make my way to San Jose to meet my GF for dinner.

If anyone wants to join let me know. I have no idea when I'm leaving.. depends how late I get up or if I have a ride partner or not.

There will be a Thanksgiving ride in Lake Chabot in San Leandro led by myself. A few family members. Very relaxed.

Probably like 6miles. Otherwise like 20 doing a huge loop around the lake.

have done the Dublin turkey ride last 3 years and had a blast each year. Group is BIG, fast in the front festive in the back

mindful of the police, they are aware of the ride and keep a close eye.

Where is the start and what time does it roll out? We're over at the in-laws in Antioch so it's either this ride or Danville.

I was thinking of doing a ride on Thursday morning. Starting in Cupertino, around 3-4 hours, depending on weather.

I've got a nice little 62 mile loop planned. But I'm out in the Sac area. If anyone wants to come along they're welcome. 4000ft of climbing though.

Way too much. I prefer somewhere between 4-40.

Ride in Vacaville starting at 8:30 from the clocktower downtown. Pleasants Valley, Winters, Cantelow-Steiger, and back.

Weather permitting cgallagh, son and I will be doing a Gordon Valley Loop. No climbing per se, mostly flats and some rollers. Easy 40-miler if we leave from downtown Vacaville. If anyone wants to freshen up post-ride PM me for directions to the house. It adds 400' of climbing but that's the trade-off for the exceptional facilities. *cheesy grin*

OTOH we're very fluid, so if this morphs into a Lake Loop we're good with that, too.
