New Year's Day Double Century Trainer

Since I've got the double bug, I figure I need to get my base mileage in now! So I'm going to do a century plus for new years. I figure on at least 100 miles.. I am leaving from Santa Clara, and will meet at going out to OLH, then down to the coast, to Pigeon Point, Gazos Creek, and back up Haskins Hill.

Start: Marymeade Park
When: 7:00 am
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/247305

I am in. Early start is OK with me.
(not a drinker so no hangover for me on New Year's Day )
Just keep the pace at, or below, injury threshold.
It is not exactly a peak season fitness time of year.
Let's just lay down some long slow distance.

I'm not a doubles guy so will most likely just join you for a portion of the right (OLH -> Coast -> back up Tunitas)

What time are you thinking of rolling? I failed to hit triple digits per my 2010 goal, so this seems like a good way to start the year! Seems like a lot of climbing at first glance.

I'm thinking of leaving Santa Clara around 7 am, but still have yet to decide on a start time. Will have to remember the route the last time we did it.

I'm not doing SBM ... I need the base mileage if I'm gonna do Camino Real in mid-February.

Change of plans ... I was looking at the last time we did Bonny Doon, and my total ride time was 12 hours ... I think I'll have it go down to Gazos Creek, before heading inland ... but this time, stop for lunch at Pescadero before heading up Haskins. I'll have a route posted up a little later.

I am looking forward to the ride, post that route soon so I can see how much pain you plan to dish.
Hopefully not too much.

If we can wake up on time after New Year's celebrations, we will attempt to make it.

Route is posted in OP. I'm thinking we can make it to Robert's Market in Woodside by around 8 am. Maybe we can meet there, and ride. We'll basically do OLH, Skyline to 84, to the coast, south on Stage Rd, do the Pigeon Pt/Gazos Creek loop, then lunch back at Pescadero. I don't want to make the same mistake last time ... didn't have enough solid food to last the whole ride.

Maybe I can meet you in San Gregorio? Then go South and up Haskins with you guys.

Can you call me when you get to Skyline and give me your ETA to San Gregorio?

Wow, it's been a long time since I did a BF ride. I think last time was the long Bonny Doon ride you referred to. Over a year ago...

Sure, I can call you when we re-group at 35/84. I'm guessing we will be at San Gregorio ~ 11 am, but we'll see.

Sorry guys, but I'm postponing this ride .. weather is a bit iffy for tomorrow, especially on the coast.

You may party on!

Well, this weekend's weather looks good, and I don't have any work-related obligations ... so I'm gonna give this another shot.
