NorCal East, Sunday, Jan 9
The current weather forecast is good for Sunday. If it holds up, I'm planning my favorite route in the area. 3 excellent climbs and a stop at Subway for lunch.
Rolling from my house at 9am. Expected to hit the Fish Hatchery at 9:30, and Folsom Bike at 10.
Distance from my house is ~85 mi. From Folsom Bike ~55mi. Climbing is somewhere between 5500 feet (from Folsom Bike) or 6200 feet (from my house or the Fish Hatchery).
The route will take us South to Cothrin Ranch Road which winds through a private road and over a ridge. The hardest climbs of the route are here. Then we'll turn S on Shingle Springs and Left on Brandon then Left on French Creek. This part of the route is absolutely beautiful. The hills should be green and lush after all the rain. Light on cars and wonderful scenery. The lunch stop will follow when we hit Shingle Springs.
From there, we'll head N on Ponderosa to Green Valley and then turn on to Deer Valley for some more climbing on rural roads before heading back.
Coffee at Folsom Bike for those that started there, before returning via the bike trail to my house.

Anyone interested in coming along?
